Hells grannies abound, hooliganism is at epidemic proportions, it's all about the grammar school education of us, the old codgers.Last week the hand rail on the stairs broke and when I reported it to the housing association it was repaired within twenty for hours in fact at 10 o’clock that evening, well this morning it broke again this time the bracket snapped so I contacted the housing association again and it was repaired at about 9.30 this evening so can’t fault them on there service at all each time they treated it as an emergency brilliant.
Very nice indeed.Good morning everyone on what looks like the middle of November here in the dark and dangerous north. 5.6 this a.m. and apart from the wind noise, a wonderfully quiet start to the day. As I stood under the shower this morning, the last minute always on as cold as I can stand it, a tune by Ricky Valance escaping in a whispering sigh from my basal ganglia, I thought of bath nights of my childhood. Once a week, whether we needed it or not. I don’t really do baths any more. Reminds me of a sheep dip. Mrs Miggins does - we have a bath in the upstairs bathroom - she puts Epsom salts in. I shower. Art bit, a tree. Have a smashing white rabbits day. Must finish this koffy before it gets cold.
That A1c is surely within the margin for error of pre-diabetic? Anyhow, as you rightly say, you are not T2D so congratulations. My 2 bob each way is that stress is a major driver of your levels and no amount of fasting will alter that. If anything I'd hypothesise it could - I'd say probably would - make matters worse. Just my opinion and I'm on the highly sceptical end of the continuum of trust in LC. I'm inclined to see body weight (granted LC works a treat for that since I can't force myself to eat much of it) as a bigger driver for me and a variety of other factors for other people. Having said that, what do I know? More worryingly, what do those purporting to be experts in the causes and treatments of T2 and even more so diet and nutrition know? Seems that they contradict each other weekly. Hug for the dream, thank you for the good wishes. You must be a glutton for punishment going to the match tonight.7.0 this Tuesday footie midweek day.
hba1c level is 48!
Was told over phone that I had very good control for T2.
I didn't bite.
Made phone appointment for dsn. I will have to write things down before cos not only me, it's Mrs L as well.M
The obvious elephant in the room, is that I'm not T2 primarily, I should be at my current levels prediabetic, but with the RH, ideally I should be non diabetic.
No one will blame me or tell me I'm not trying. But for some reason it's sneaking up over time as I get older.
It's the same low carb diet thingy, but it is working but not if you get my chuntering.
I think I might have to do a couple of days clear of food, as I know it's a reset for me. I have done it before and doesn't concern me.
Anywho,
Rain has abated, but not gone altogether, according to our local weather station, over two and half inches fell in that 24 hours. (13mmls, I think) for those who have been decimilised.
My garden is still very wet and puddles in places
Got the shop, fed the wife, chores sorted, kitchen duties need attending to before going the game tonight, Hope the weather stays ok.
Gonna watch that series on the beeb, when I can binge watch it all, I'm finding that rather than wait weekly for the next one. Then I can avoid the constant adverts. They can be so annoying.
I can tell you I had two dreams last night, so vivid, and so disturbing.
First was, a story of myself being not able to keep up with working in the car factory. Horrid.
The second was a fight with a an electrical device. It won. Cos I woke up.
My best wishes (Not my dreams) to you lot as always.
Thank you @gennepherA beautiful colourful tree @dunelm
Smashing, what a great colour and all those swirls. Very effectiveFbg 6.7

Creative.. done last night around the time of midnight... with the Brusho mineral grainy pigments again...
On photographic paper yet again, too much water, a gooey mess, but fun scraping the trees out. It needed thoroughly drying with the hairdryer.
Still looking for my 6 x 4 postcards, but found other scrap of paper, so will experiment with those.
It is still raining, with a permanent paddling pool around my bungalow at the moment. Got no ducks yet, but the birds (sparrows mostly), are happily splashing away in it...
The pigeon does not appear to be a waterbird and he is avoiding my garden at the moment, and so is the magpie because neither can (or want to) land in water...
Exciting times in Rainland...
Have your best kind of day...
I think I might have a cuppa tea and a quick power nap, then fill the black wheelie and recycle bags ready for Thursday....

It is on display daily on this forum. Starts off in a place called Upper Pearl Clutcher, goes through Carni Corner, round the Keto Bend, on through Lesser Cheat Day and ends up at Common Sense.I am definitely, supporting my club, even after a lifetime of few highs.
But I can't do without my footie.
As I say to my lot, it is the experience of being there, not the actual footie, and of course the result does help but it is being there, even if it's bad.
I prefer the live action than the television version. As I can take in the tactics etc of the whole pitch, not picture.
Ok I do admit, that I do believe that stress and dealing with day to day issues are causing a lot of stress, and I had a really good conversation with my eldest over certain worries and how to help him if.......etc.
I do think weight plays a part, but not be to consumed about it, being the basis of it all.
I agree as a lay person, due to my experience with the RH and the similarities with Predabetes and T2.
That most of the medical profession cannot come to a consensus on how to treat the condition, and dietary advice without resorting to meds.
Meds can help, and do for some, but the majority of diabetic drugs are tailored and designed to treat certain aspects of the condition. Such as, insulin resistance or first phase, second phase of just to reduce BG levels overall. But the GP's reluctance to do more than the basic bloods, is why so many struggle with the condition.
I would really like to take a trip to the continuum you mention, where is it?
It's called nous around here.It is on display daily on this forum. Starts off in a place called Upper Pearl Clutcher, goes through Carni Corner, round the Keto Bend, on through Lesser Cheat Day and end up at Common Sense.
If common sense was so common human history would have been so much more peaceful, prosperous and equitable for most people and cupcakes would never have been made. By nous do you mean duplossy? It's called nous around here.
Common does not register with the class system.
Sense is being logical to discover the hidden knowledge of those that doesn't make profit from it.
You can fool..........etc
You should never take anything at face value.
Read the small print. (If you can!)
A fool is someone who ignores the truth. But as always, depending on whose truth it is, and who is selling it.
Still want to go to a continuum ((love words with a double uu)
Hat, scarf and rattle being rescued for tonight.
Best wishes.
duplossy????If common sense was so common human history would have been so much more peaceful, prosperous and equitable for most people and cupcakes would never have been made. By nous do you mean duplossy?
French as in nous avons street cred? Being in touch with your own sounds like a dodgy euphemism. Duplossy is the way forward to the past.duplossy????
spellchecker please?
nous is street cred or hip, knowing how to expedite oneself with friends, colleagues, strangers and using it to be in touch with your own.
And I'm not into French music.
Great news on the liver clinic front and also the MOT - nice gesture to the brew fund.Good wet afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen and those that remember the times of drought and hose pipe bans.
Blood sugars this morning were 4.8 hastening a reduction in my insulin dosage and a toasted jam sandwich for breakfast.
A welcome to @Biker to this out of the way thread on this site. From your comment on your post I am assuming you ride a motorcycle or a treader, my slang for bicycle. Me me’s and myself ride a motorcycle when I am able. Up’t in the dark and dangerous norf, the moors and dales are my favourite destinations and I have ridden to Whitby a few times, stopping for fodder at the station cafe.
Yesterday here in Tilehurst Towers Mrs J was looking to renew our car insurance and discovered our car MOT ran out yesterday. This resulted a quick trip to the garage where I get my bike mot’d and luckily they squeezed the car in at the end of working day, thankfully it passed and gratefully on my part I made cash donation to their tea and koffy fund, which I hope will be converted into biscuits of their choice.
This morning I had a telephone liver clinic appointment, thankfully my results were good as we know the consultant and he knows our sense of humour much laughter abounded.
I have a follow up appointment with him in 6 months and this appointment will be face to face.
Now I must end this, stay safe and if you can, fun is still to be had in splashing in puddles.
Low blood sugars apart a very successful day and even that sounds as though it was easily rectified. Congratulations and long may it continue.Good wet afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen and those that remember the times of drought and hose pipe bans.
