There are quite a few of the people who eventually were called Belgian in my tree but they are just lumped in with the "Germanic" ones. (Saxons etc). Some were from a place called "Austrasia" and I'm assuming that was somewhere around where Austria is now. It was a copy of a letter to my GP and says that my kidneys are in trouble - probably due to diabetes. Also that one of my kidneys is significantly bigger than the other which appears to be a problem. She asked the GP to arrange more blood and urine tests, so I'm expecting to hear something from them soon. I have to make an appointment to see a GP once Neil is back and settled anyway.

It’s a crazy world and as a species we seem to do ourselves much disservice.As you know, I have this weird condition, it is all to do with how my body can't process certain foods.
Since I was young, my battle with finding how I can be healthy, without feeling weird, vomiting, crazy itching, stomach cramps and a lot more.
There is in the modern diet, many, many, supposedly safe, supposedly healthy food, that isn't.
Allergies for instance. So many.....
Then there is the food lables, a lot of ingredients in bold. .......
And industrial additives.......
And.......
But, one thing I have learnt, is that, the world could not feed itself, if the food giants stopped producing **** food. If the FDA or EU adopted more stringent rules on food standards. The cost would skyrocket. Cos there would not be enough fresh food.
Though I do believe, there is more **** now, then there ever has been. You just have to be aware of it.
Also, the numbers of children, being understood to have food issues is also on the increase.

Art bit with red trees is great @dunelmGood morning everyone on a pleasantly quiet start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. Yesterday was mainly taken up with Mrs Miggins’ grandly organised pre Christmas lunch with her aunts, siblings et al. Ten of us for lunch and the venu did a splendid job with table decorations, gold looking chargers, decent crackers and more importantly provided some tasty, freshly made food. We lingered afterwards and didn’t get home until almost dark o’clock. Today is the school nativity and The Girl In The Bubble has bagged one of the top jobs where she tries to explain to a bewildered husband in front of a jury made up of three posh foreign blokes who don’t understand Aramaic, a donkey, a cow, a sheep and a goat, how this all came about in the first place and just who decided upon leaving it to the last minute dot com to book accommodations when he knew that everyone would be there trying to pay their taxes. The first recorded holiday argument. Later, we see the origin of over the top, very expensive gifts of gold, Frankenstein and Gurr! Anyhow, I am unable to go this year, limited tickets so just mum, dad and the two grandmothers (make a sad face). Art bit, red trees in the sunset, The Platters. May your halls be decked with boughs of holly and don’t forget to make room for the 364 items needed to sing the 12 days of Christmas and made up of 12 tetrahedral numbers - but only if you nail the partridge to the pear tree as one thing. Koffy, must make koffy.
I am glad Mr Slim is back home being involved in the pile of stuff that needs doing. It is more than a relief to you @SlimLizzy12.12

Kiki does not approve of her new bedding and indicated this by throwing it on the floor. Choosing to sleep on the hard chair rather than the new fleecy cushion.
MrSlim has been hard at work fixing the glass door back into place. A very tricky job involving special screws and a small steel plate. Now it just needs an invisible repair to the plaster surrounding the fault. Today he will replace the kitchen sink tap. It was dripping when the purchasers came and manageable, but it is far worse now, releasing a stream of water from unauthorised and unexpected places which then manage to ooze into the undersink cupboard. A two litre container was dangerously full when I arrived back after five days away.
We viewed the huge house MrSlim has been hankering after yesterday. It's in far better condition than either of enormous wrecks he had me check out previously.
Why does he always fancy the very large houses?
This house has double glazing and central heating - which needs a service at the very least and a new boiler at worst. There is nothing in the kitchen, except the sink and an open fireplace. MrSlims reaction? Oh good, an indoor BBQ! Many of the rooms have beautiful unused fireplaces.
It's been empty over a year and has obviously got damp as a result, but MrSlim is confident he can sort it out with more insulation.
Sadly the walled garden is north facing.
With so many tall buildings surrounding it am wondering if it gets any sun at all in winter. The main difficulty for me is the size. We are supposed to be downsizing. Currently we have a little over 135m2 living space.
This house is over 200m2. Ten rooms.
Ridiculous for two people.

Good points:
No major work needed, except possibly the roof. There was some storm damage, a few slates off. Which the agent assures us will be fixed by the current owners. Due to the style of the house, the surface area of the roof is relatively small. Due to the height of the roof, over three stories, it would have to be done by professionals, thankfully MrSlim agrees. We can factor this cost into the offer, if we make one.
We both like the town it is in, although we noticed yesterday there is more passing traffic than expected. This town is much nearer our best friends. Right in the centre of town, shops, pharmacies, bank and restaurants walking distance.
The rooms are generously sized and nicely proportioned. MrSlim thinks he can keep his tools in the cellar, there is a garage, which needs a new door, around the corner.
There is another possible house, in a different town, slightly further away from our friends. But a much more practical size and condition, for very little extra money. So MrSlim has sent a viewing request for that one as well. I was told it there were negotiations in progress and not offered a viewing, maybe I should have insisted? The house still shows as available. Am wondering if this is an agent trying to make me think there is competition and make a hasty offer? Have had this comnent several times from agents which makes this scenario seem more likely and so far not seen any of those houses marked as under offer. Or perhaps the website has simply not been updated? We will see what response MrSlim gets.

Hugs for both yourself and Neil: good news on his timely return with some shopping. There seems to be some guilt regarding feeling the back pain, why? We have a resident expert on almost all things reduced movement and physiology related but isn't there such a concept as referred pain (and injury)? Might not "powering through" leg pain make back pain worse? Them's my onions anyhow. Take care and give those feelings of guilt the old Spanish Archer today, preferably forever.Neil got home, safe and sound, about 20.30 yesterday. He'd even managed to do some shopping in Inverness on the way home. However, he was feeling awful after taking a different kind of medication to clear his bowel before the procedure - something in it which he reacted to. He's still feeling a bit off this morning but he can just relax today and get over it.

About to take my 2nd lot of painkillers to try to get my back pain under control. Why is it that I can cope pretty well with my leg pain but the back pain seems almost unbearable? Odd that. I don't feel that the back pain is any worse than the legs, although not the same kind of pain. I suppose that makes the difference.
