What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

6.1 this morning.
Had a good day yesterday. Finished all my Christmas cards. Took ages to write and thank class members for the lovely presents I received from them.

Posted them on the dog walk this morning.

Have been so busy busy this week - even though there are no classes running.

But it is good to be busy. I totally agree with Dolly Parton when she said she would rather wear out than rust out.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and all those who aren’t ready for the upcoming hijacked pagan festival.

Blood sugars this morning were 7.2

Here in Tilehurst Towers things are beginning to move quickly and being the insignificant one in this household me, me’s and myself are feeling that one or all 6 of the entities that inhabit my cranium should give up trying to keep up.

Mrs J is really enjoying herself and in all probability waiting to pounce with yet more festive decorations. Illuminated or not.

Stay safe all.

Good to see you are still very much in the game Alfred. You are a little scamp, ain't ya just :D

Good morning everyone on a damp squib of a start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. Smashing reviews from yesterday’s nativity and at the same time one of the Ninky Nonks and Little Miss Pamplemouse were on stage at the Birmingham Hippodrome with their school choir for songs modern and old, even giving a good rendition of Carol of The Bells which they told me “is very fast”. It’s getting all ducky darlings. Best result is that all three performers bravely faced the lime lights and enjoyed the experiences. Hearing test today. Nothing untoward, Boots advertised that they are doing free hearing tests for the NHS so just taking the opportunity to test out my hearing. I already know that I have some height frequency damage but let’s wait and see. Art bit - we need more housing Angela, “with a pink hotel, a boutique, and a swinging hot spot”. May your day be satisfying - nothing from Holland and Barrett can extend the expiration date so I will make some delicious koffy and enjoy the damp day.
I thought the art bit was standing stones before I read your post @dunelm

Ah...everything pink....

Morning all on St Lucy's day 2024 which for the confused isn't the actual Winter Solstice. I doubt any debate in the 1752 Parliament over the calendar change was in Gregorian chant but it amuses me so to think. I now have an image of JRM chanting and Nige, pint and fag in hand decryng Brussels. Sorry Nige, Gregory Xiii wasn't a Brussels bureaucrat but very much par for your course. @dunelm such talented grandchildren, enjoy. Thank you for sharing your art. There are yellow (and black taxis, town colours) hereabouts but no screen doors to slam. The winner was at least partly, as will always be, for any allusion to Joni. @gennepher thank you for the video and the intriguing creative yesterday. @Annb I hope leg day goes ahead and well, hug for the failed Libre sensor. Have a less saccharine sweet video from a far more dark and dangerous part of the world which should please the Druids, Scandinavians, Italians, Goths? and Christians here - inclusive or what?. The most famous poem wot a poet Dun for today is here along with a more upbeat and modern one, with a wonderful piece of art. Also attached is Rev Richard Coles' - now AKA Steeple Man/Revo - take on the day. What japes chums. .All in all far more interesting and likely to live up to Bernard Miles' claims for a well known stout than Elsie Keto will ever manage for me. Salmon day for me today, how will you be bringing light into your own day?
Thanks Ian...

Slow day here so thank you @dunelm for occupying me in trying to answer a puzzle as to whether the very idea of delicious Koffy is a non sequitur or category error. Still hours of life in that one so many thanks. What can you offer as a little something for the weekend, sir? :playful:

6.9. This frustrating Friday.
I'm deaf again in my right ear.
Cold has returned with more vigour, and coughing and snot.
Mrs L is streaming as well, but only sightly .
Mrs L has her defiant head on.
" I'm not going anywhere "
So before getting Mrs L ready, I thought I would ring the surgery.
I apologised saying, we couldn't make it this afternoon.
I then asked if I could get a GP to phone as soon as possible?
The receptionist, asked me if I wanted to change my appointment to a phone appointment?
That would be brilliant, I said.
Thanks so much, I added.

I'm am fire trucking so annoyed! And coughing etc.

If I said, that the prep I did yesterday, to go the doctors, was now just a waste of time and effort.

I really hope I can get the answers I hope to get.

Full report back later.

Weather, dull, grey and cool, spits and spots of rain. It is damp tho.

Thank you @ianpspurs and for the video and poem on St Lucy’s Day. I shall message my sister Lucy in the US of A and ask if she has a candled head dress for today.

Just shows how put out by all this.
It is #2 24th birthday today.
Yep Friday the 13th.
He was born on Friday 13th.
Mrs L was born on Friday 13th
Mrs L was 13 on Friday 13th. And obviously others.
Mrs L does admit, that other than the kids, she has never been that lucky.
Never won owt! Which is mostly true.
Somehow, it's a good shout!
I will go and have fifteen minutes in the garden.

Good cheer. If someone tells me “I’m offended”, I like to reply, “I have a sore toe”.
Roses are red
Violets are blue
Poetry is hard
I like delicious koffy.

Less John Donne than Clive Dunn but isn't delicious one of those subjective things you scientists so abhor? Hope the toe improves and that Nige earworm vacates your noggin asap. Anyhow, good cheer is so last century. Yule have us all holding hands and singing Kumbaya while toasting our S'mores next.

We now have access to home visits.
Yay.
The first will be dsn, for six month review.
Also ordered podiatrist for home visit.
Health record now includes permission.
And to sending a letter to the brain specialist.

It should have been this easy two months ago.

Fish is getting shoved In the oven.

My best wishes to you, and thanks for your best wishes and support.

That's good to hear. It should make life a little bit easier for you.

Thank you @Krystyna23040 and sorry for the ear worm.
I don't mind the ear worm as I really like Joni Mitchell.

Actually, after I wrote that the song was going round and round in my head - another ear worm materialised
'And the seasons they go round and round
And the painted ponies go up and down
We're captive on the carousel of time
We can't return we can only look behind
From where we came
And go round and round and round
In the circle game'

What an ear worm to have. Quality will out, the singer, song writer and you.
