Oh yes, Silo - smashing. Try turning one of the batteries round in the remote - endless entertainment.Black doves, you say @dunelm.
I'm giving that a go as we speak
While not back to watching TV that much, I do have a few shows I actually take an interest in
Severance caught me eye .
A stark setting & a rather complicated plot line playing out, but it engages me.
I heard rave reviews about The Penguin.
Sat and watched the first episode....interesting
Lots of background & fleshing out of the character.
Not sure I can see the reason for the rave reviews as yet. Suspect it's one of those like breaking bad that builds strongly as it goes.
And of course Silo
Staying faithful -ish to the book it's been a good watch so far.
Other than that, one of us has the idiot box box on constantly for ' background wallpaper '....aagghh.
Funny whenever she's away for a day or today & can't get the telly to work, the "I don't know love, I haven't had it on since you left"
THAT look of horror, wondering how on earth I survived & the suspicion I must be in league with the devil himself....lol
Thanks @ianpspurs - that tree was having a lovely time in the front garden, just minding its own business and being all nice and coniferous. Now it’s all “tonight Matthew I’m going to be Ritchie Blackmore”. Enjoy that precious time with the grandchildren, not much else to top it.Morning all from an unsurprisingly dull start to December 16th in the L.A. of East Anglia, UK. Yet another sliding doors moment for some per @dunelm's post? As a nation - species? probably not, I suspect at least the Scandis do it better. We seem to have learned absolutely nothing from the spread of COVID. Pack as many people into totally unsuitable, poorly ventilated spaces, expect people with highly contagious illnesses to attend work/school/social events regardless, wander around poorly dressed (when did shorts become ubiquitous all year?), believe any nonsense about the deep state and vaccines then be totally amazed when the health system can't cope. Take back control my fundament - the sheer arrogance. @dunelm thank you for sharing today's art, setting me off on a Nige style rant and laughing at the gratuitously Grumpy (auto-correct desperately wanted that to be Grimly, much better) Old Git jibe at the Christmas tree. We both know you're better than that: 'ave a word with yourself fella. @jjraak I have no idea what those programmes are but I liked the idea of Mrs JJ being dumbfounded by you not having the TV on 24-7. You too are better than the glib idiot box jibe: unpick that for even a few seconds and the whole world view behind it completely unravels. You've been told, don't mention Br**it, just stop now. Wolf Hall (the prototype Br**it?) was entertaining, much googling and checking the history - not convinced but costume drama is our thing in this country. (I've already told you once, don't mention Br**it). Fbg and Elsie? That's the rim on the wheel of fortune (see attached). Finishing off Saturday's h/m soup, venturing into Cambs and seeing two grandchildren is mainly how I intend to fight the T2 Beast. Enjoy your Monday - if that post hasn't made you too dyspeptic.
That is extremely worrying @ianpspurs.We seem to have learned absolutely nothing from the spread of COVID. @Krystyna23040 that is much too sensible, typically caring and such good long term business sense: the dead don't tend to be repeat customers. In so many ways UK Plc really did jump the shark around 2015 and refuses to be rational again, much preferring Kayfabe. Remember to also rest and recharge as well as plan over this - what, downtime?/preseason?.That is extremely worrying @ianpspurs.
I have very strict rules in my classes. If you have any bug, even a mild cold, you do not attend your class (of course you get a credit for the missed class).
I also keep the window open just a little which, according to my air quality monitor, keeps the air quality good.
I do have some class members with compromised immunity and I want to keep then safe. But it also isn't good for anyone to exercise when they are ill.
My youngest daughter had a wonderful swimming coach in Norwich called Jane Asher. She was really strict on not training, even if you only have a mild cold, as it is not good for your body.
She still swims and is still competing, and is still setting Masters world records in her 90s.
Interesting Art Bit @dunelmGood morning everyone on a red sky in the morning here in the dark and dangerous north.
Red sky at night, dust and small particles are trapped in the atmosphere by high pressure.
Red sky in the morning, same thing.
Lots of bugs going about at present; Norovirus, flu, Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and that Covid-19 is still lurking in the shadows. It seem to surprise some folk each winter - the same ones perhaps who are shocked to see ice on car windows when winter arrives and post endless pictures on social media of their garden receiving even the merest dusting of snow.
Finished watching a series called Black Doves last night and also Wolf Hall - entertaining.
Ordered meds - I will run out towards year end when the system shuts down otherwise and flash to bang time from ordering to collecting seems to be on the increase. We seem to be living in the contrasting opening words of A Tale of Two Cities. Why did that pop into my head? Bonkers. I think it was ever thus. Stop it.
Art bit, empty your mind they say, no mind they say - oh well, an insight of what happens when the chimp takes over! Hope your day goes well. Sometimes it takes courage to be happy I feel. Especially when someone decides to festoon a perfectly happy tree with a string of lights. Now, where is that koffy.
Thank you @gennepher and my koffy was safely cuddled inside the koffy can.Interesting Art Bit @dunelm
There is light coming in from the gap in between the cliffs. It looks a secluded place....
Hope you found your coffee....
Hug for the workmen being in the way. Very much a winner for the kaleidoscope and thanks for sharing the video. By the way, anyone seen John G about here since Dec 9th?Fbg 7.1
Nighttime wildlife video
Cat Jade sees beady eyes - leaps & catches her prey - later just Badger Willow comes foraging - last clip is Jade waiting for her breakfast, she can hear me getting up and...has left the dead rat at my kitchen door. She never eats them. And I feed her well.

Creative...this is my Christmas blanket. It is a red tartan. It does not look like this at all. This is what it looks like in laboscope kaleidoscope app...
A bit chilly today...
Got back home midday to a paving firm, with all their massive vehicles completely taking up all available space on the road so that they could do a neighbours paving in the back garden and I had one heck of a job getting to, as well as into my driveway. I always reverse in so I come out forwards, but not a hope of doing that when I got back at midday. There was barely room to get in forwards. I need to get out very early in the morning in the dark and I need my car forward facing before it gets dark tonight. I need to check the windscreen wash as well.
I wasn't impressed with the workmen, they were unable to push a wheelbarrow half full of soil up the short plank into the trailer. Boss man had to help each person to get the wheelbarrow up. Either it's their first job or they are a flyby night firm..... their vehicles look all new with new painting and brand new logos..... as you can tell, I don't trust any of them....
Right, I need a hot cuppa tea from my flask.
A short nap... then lock up, feed the beasties, and then go out and see if they are still there or if they are gone for the day, and then I can finish off my odds and ends of bits on the car and clean the windscreen et cetera....

From what I can see from my family history research, the powerful entrenched their power by marrying their own relations and until something catastrophic happened (eg civil war) they kept hold of it. Even then, if they held on to their lives, they still held on to some property and didn't become paupers. On the other hand, my 2x great grandmother was born in the workhouse, and remained in poverty all her life. Born with no power and there was no way she could work her way out of it. Didn't have you down as a deep state/blob conspiracy theorist like the lettuce. BG 8.8 after another very short night but came down to a better level by mid day.

seeing how you are interested in how our bodies, can or cannot do certain things.6.1 this morning.
Enjoyed a gentle stroll around the park with Poppy. It was nice meeting up with fellow dog walkers.
Mr K is now sorting out the garden - while I am still relaxing and reading with my second cup of coffee.
As I don't have much admin to do this week it will be really good to delve deeper into how the body works so that I have new and interesting stuff for the classes in the new year.
Thank you @ianpspursHug for the workmen being in the way. Very much a winner for the kaleidoscope and thanks for sharing the video. By the way, anyone seen John G about here since Dec 9th?
