What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen, abit a slightly damp morning here in Tilehurst Towers.

Blood sugars this morning were 5.7

Today me, me’s and myself are being taken to a large supermarket to purchase some more thermal underwear and a few other items that if we want to eat then we had better purchase them.

As I sit here composting this posting, yes, you did read that right, composting. Mrs J is busy in her kitchen working some sort of alchemy on some sort of fodder. My waist line is a testament to her skills.

Now it is time for me me’s and myself wish you all a good day. May your trials and tribulations be such that you are found not guilty in the court of life.

Good morning everyone from a decidedly wet and blustery morning here in the dark and dangerous north. 5.5 this a.m. Power went off just before 8am. Tried dancing in the garden, in the rain, blowing a whistle and banging a drum but it took an hour and a half before it worked! Thank goodness for that, I was so worried about not having koffy - some folk on social whinia are being dragged screaming and complaining back to school to pick up their darlings as the school decided to close. Bit premature as all the power is now back on, bets laid that the school don’t drag the students back in like a massive game of pass the parcel.
Hospital just called - my appointment at the cardio unit tomorrow is cancelled as the doctor has the temerity to be ill - new appointment letter in due course. That’s nice.
Art bit - an ink pen dragged across some wet paper.
Hope your day swims along avoiding the rapids. Morning events and posts on the local version of social moan along remind me that “There is no more stupefying thing than anger, nothing more bent on its own strength.” (Seneca). Rain has stopped. Best finish this koffy and get out for a walk.

Thank you, Ian and thanks for the creative compliment....
I can finally relax.....

I am glad you got your appointment @Madfarmerswife
They do not make accessibility easy.

have been told at my previous surgery that I had to ring. I stood in the waiting room, called on my mobile, made eye contact with the receptionist the whole time. Then said, on my way out "Well, wasn't THAT a productive use of time and resources."
Well played, madame.....bravo .

Wouldn't have thought of doing that .

And You are SO right, on the messed up queuing system .

If you need it asap, I barely works most of the time .

I have need of appointments, and if it's mission critical I use the patches app, to relay my needs etc .

Working for me so far, but as I say not an on the day need.

Do like your idea tho ...mmhh

Might use it next time round .

Big fan of social then? Interesting Seneca quote which I'm trying hard to reconcile with righteous indignation. I'm glad the power is back on for your koffy and hope the cardio appointment is rescheduled asap. Thank you for sharing the art, the return of the red buildings and Iggle Piggle's boat . Not sure what else the school could do really, da**ed if they do and vice versa.

Good that you can relax. @jjraak who is/was Freddie Kruger? Thought I had a good knowledge of South African cricket and Rugby players so I'm guessing it is something to do with films. In which case I can't be bothered to ask Alexa

Sorry your appointment got rearranged.
Glad you've got your coffee eventually@dunelm
The red roof series again.....

Weather beautiful yesterday and today - cold but brilliant sunshine.

Can't get an appointment to talk to GP today - as usual. Tried to get information from the website on test results - the advice is to phone a receptionist who can tell me the result after 2 pm but can't tell me what it means. It's up to me to decide if I need to see a doctor as a result and then TRY to make an appointment. Another badly designed system.

BG was 7.9 at 02.30 today. Not really FBG but I hadn't eaten after about 18.30 so it's a bit of time between. Slept in the chair for about 2 hours. Now over 8.

Science Fiction/Star Trek/Dr Who/horror? Not nightmares just that I can't for the life of me see what the point is.

Well your comment made me think of all the things we now take for granted that had their origins in SiFi the mobile phone invented by an engineer who got the idea from the communications device used by Kirk in Star Trek,AI ,real time translation devices the IPad , helicopters and liquid fueled rockets to name but a few.

Thank you @ianpspurs. School - if they had gone onto the Northern Power Grid website like I did, it would have informed them that the power would be back on within the hour - never mind.

Just had a garbled message from my BT service from a number I don't know saying "Sutton, Surrey" and "Betty died". I have various in-laws called Betty and the family lives in and around Surrey but I can't get the number to answer when I try to call. Very frustrating. If it's the Betty I suspect it is, she's a year or so younger than me but has been ill for years. I just e-mailed her brother-in-law to ask if it's her. I don't want to ask her husband in case it's the wrong person I'm thinking of. This BT message system is pretty useless and always garbles text messages.

EDIT: It was the lady I thought. Her husband was in the middle of building on a bedroom downstairs for her to make access easier but hasn't managed to finish it in time. Also bad news that the brother-in-law I asked has recovered from his lung cancer and now has a brain tumour and his wife is in advanced stages of dementia. Tragic for the whole family.

Really good @gennepher that they sorted it. You definitely needed it in writing

Yes it was good that it was open. Some class members said that they were worried that it would still be closed and I would be stuck on the A47 - unable to get to the class in time.
