What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

#Grateful. Two hour delay at Addenbrookes but feedback from scan was positive - stable disease. Rinse and repeat in May. Now off to Winchester for a fourth birthday on the morrow.
Good news, now to celebrate tomorrow and tonight.

Been busy month
This week no exception

But started the day with my first 5 in forever it seems

5.7..so rather happy with that

Saw upper limb specialist other day, nothing really of note to mention

Measured scars strength etc

Get report at some point

Eye hospital.....mmmhh

What felt like indifferent & breezy doctor examined the eye

We got off on the wrong foot by his attitude & my bristling at his comments.

Sure none of it was personal .

The take aways ?

Lining op is recovering as planned
Expectation is it might take up to 2 years
Currently at month 8

After our initial hurdles on to the issue

Yep cataract, as expected.
Quite Pleased it's not something more sinister, bad as it is .

Suggestion. Is let eye fully recover before deciding on another operation on it

So That's what I'm thinking of doing,, at the moment..

See ya All tomorrow.

Sorry...iwas so tired today, I still can't see properly to see this screen, so this may be a stupid looking message . I can't read anything on here yet The was cataract operation was a big success. They were very pleased with me over that. I can't see properly to write this cuz I've got a patch for my eye.

I am very, very tired..
I will be more chatty in the morning
Sweet dreams...
Creative.

Glad all went well after my cataract operation I had to wear an eye hard at night for a few weeks nt sure if it will be same for you when will that eye patch be removed will some one have to take it off for you or can you remove it yourself after a set time.
Sorry to be so nosey.

Glad it went well for you
I hope the drops to follow are not too laborious or painful, and that you manage to sleep well with the hard thing and tape stuck to your face.

Love the artwork. The oil fin heater is very effective. I will never look at them in quite the same way again!

Really good news that all went really well. Love the creative @gennepher

5.6 this morning.
We have booked a well recommended dog trainer for some 1:1 sessions in our home. Although Bonnie is doing well we feel she will do even better with some expert help.

Actually, what I have just written is total rubbish. Of course it is us that need the expert help to train her properly. She is such a lovely dog and we want to do the best for her.

Great news and thanks for taking the time to show us a photo of what I initially thought was all the pills raided, or radiated from a pharmacy.

Good morning everyone on a so far wonderfully silent start to what will soon become a day of fun and laughter here in the dark and dangerous north. 5.6 this a.m. Soon, maybe mid morning, grandchildren will be arriving. It’s not half term for local children but in the West Midlands where they live, the escape has already begun. Swimming baths booked and a trip to Whitby penciled in. The rest of the time - see what unfolds.
Art bit - ink again.
Hope you can enjoy your day. I am going to make koffy and get ready for a week of fun and games.

So glad the op went well. Of course you're tired and will need time to get over it. Just enjoy getting some TLC and relaxing. Interesting radiators you have in your room.

6.5 at 04.20 today. Better than I expected since it was 13.9 when I went to bed at midnight.

As is my wont, I dozed again for another hour or so, off and on. I am properly awake now though.

I finally got around to buying a new mobile phone yesterday evening (DIL came in and I asked her to help me decide which one to get. I should have known she would select the orange one - she loves colour). I had to ask because I hadn't the vaguest idea what was being described to me. Looks like a good basic one, with big buttons so it'll do me fine. My old Ericsson one that I dug out recently isn't holding a charge for any length of time so it had to be replaced. No point having an emergency phone that is unreliable.

DIL has to appear in court over the business with the dogs a few months ago, when the pup (only half grown and very excitable) got out of the garden and actually bit a passer-by. Trouble was, rather than being the half alsatian, half lab that was promised, he turned out to be half rottweiler, half lab. People were scared of him and that just excited him even more. Of course, having knocked the passer-by over, Banksie, the half alsatian, half Newfoundland, ran over but didn't bite. We think it was all made started off by the Basset hound, Hugo barking and getting the other two excited. Alistair got them under control again pretty quickly and the bite was just a scrape really. However, the police were called in.

Banksie was rehomed on the mainland and is now an emotional support dog, Archie, the pup had to be put down and Hugo remains with the family since he didn't actually join in.

Now it has come to court and DIL has to appear there in March. It's all a bit stressful, but they did do everything that was required of them, so hopefully the result won't be too dire. Even the man who was "bitten" has written a letter saying he didn't want the dog to be put down - too late.

Now DIL has finally realised that she isn't capable of looking after big, boisterous dogs and won't be getting any more dogs after Hugo, already an elderly dog, goes. She isn't fit enough to take them out for exercise often enough, Alistair works all hours, Em isn't strong enough. It was a disaster waiting to happen really.

Good morning to everyone this dull and dreary dark skied Saturday morning , but for me I am happy happy happy this morning.
I am going to pay catch up now, because I was unable to read your messages before, either stress or I had an eyepatch on.
Hope everything goes smoothly today @gennepher.
thank you very much, @Krystyna23040

Thanks @jjraak )

Hope the day goes well Gennepher. Thinking of you.
Thank you @Annb

@gennepher who has overcome so many obstacles to reach this point yet still manages to stay strong and share a creative. Hopefully all now goes smoothly
Thank you very much @ianpspurs

All the best for today which I hope goes well.

Thank you very much @dunelm
A beautiful little sketch @dunelm
Thank you for your good wishes

@gennepher , in my opinion things appear to have gone well, which after all the problems is a positive result.
Thank you, Alf. Life did throw one more wobbly...2 massive visual fragmented migraine attacks. It could've been all the flashing different colouredlights that triggered them off and the flashing ambulances coming into A&E.
And I was like oh no, so near yet so far, but the max dose of my tablets sorted it. Had to tell the when I got in, but it was not a barrier to the operation proceeding.

congratulations, Ian on those positive results. I am glad for you. @ianpspurs

Just checking in to see you're ok @gennepher.

Hopefully just spending quality time with your lad .

Sleep well .
Thank you @jjraak but I could not look at my mobile screen because I was still suffering after effects of the operation. The anaesthetic was still affecting me completely and affecting my eyesight of my left eye. With all the anaesthetic they gave me, more than half my head was like a solid brick of grey concrete... I was still like half dead the rest of Thursday...

Art bit - ink again.
Hope you can enjoy your day. I am going to make koffy and get ready for a week of fun and games.
Beautiful art bit again @dunelm

I could hardly see what I was doing there because I still had the guauze and the eyepatch on my eye, and my good eye was playing up in sympathy for my new cataract eye....

Time to take eye drops
Back in 15 mins or so...
