Good morning folks. fbs this morning was 8.5. Have decided to leave off my dapagliflozin (forxiga) medication for a few days as I am having unpleasant symptoms which are described in the info sheet under warnings. I have left a message for my GP but of course the Practice will be closed until next Tuesday for Easter. Meanwhile I am monitoring my blood sugars in case they rise. I did manage to get an appointment at an outreach medical centre due to another worrying symptom and they have made a 2 week fast track referral to the hospital re possible cancer. I am still waiting for results from my 2 biopsies for suspicious skin lesions. At least my kidney stone is no more. :joyful: Since the beginning of Feb. I seem to have been experiencing one thing after another and undergone a range of necessary but unpleasant investigations. I am grateful that we have such services available but have to admit to feeling a bit daunted by the prospect of more tests/ examinations. For now I am trying to relax as nothing will happen until after the Easter break and will continue with the paracetamol and antibiotics. I am so glad that we were able to enjoy our Golden Wedding Anniversary break earlier this month and have added lots of photos to our album. I wish you all a very Happy Easter especially those of you who will be celebrating with loved ones. :)

That is an awful lot to cope with, but you are coping amazingly well.
I wish you also have a happy Easter.

Thank you@Krystyna for your kind words. I am usually a positive person but atm I feel so tired that my resilience is a bit low. :)

Back online. The furniture is back to its normal place and everything plugged in again. Not because the blinds have been fitted though. Having told us the fitter would come yesterday, nobody turned up, despite Neil and myself having cleared everything away from the windows so that the job could be done. Tried phoning the firm, but they appear to have closed for the bank holiday. They have every right to do so, of course, but they did make the appointment themselves and then failed to keep it. They could at least have phoned us on Thursday when they realised they wouldn't be working on Friday. However, they didn't and are not working today either (I've been phoning them) so now, they won't come until next week some time. I can only hope that the weather stays greyish so that I can use this PC without too much glare behind the screen. That's the situation at the moment and I can just about manage to see what I'm doing.

I really need one of those baseball caps with a wide peak to keep the light out of my eyes.

BG at 04.00 today was 12.9! My own fault again. Fairly stable now, I think. My Libre sensor has failed again (it was a replacement from Abbott) so I'm back to occasional finger pricking. Not getting an answer from Abbott either. I wouldn't have thought they would close for the bank holiday, but there we are.

Also had a letter from the dietetics department at the hospital with an appointment for 1st May. I have no idea who referred me to them, or why. They haven't been much help in the past. Anyway, I have 3 other medical appointments that day so am trying to rearrange for another day. Of course, I can't get through to them either. They appear also to be closed for the bank holiday.

Of course, it is lovely to think that people are taking time to mark the sacrifice made by Jesus all those years ago, but I somehow doubt if many will be thinking about anything other than Easter eggs, festive meals and leisure time. Cynic that I am!

Happy Easter!

Looks like a bit of sun and blue skies today....

Creative is Cherry Blossom painted in Kuretake brush pens...

ALT text
Ink and brush pen painting of a cherry blossom tree.
Twisted black branches reach upward like quiet thoughts, blooming with soft bursts of red, pink, and hints of yellow. Each flower glows against the white textured paper, as if caught in the hush of early spring. The strokes are gentle yet alive, capturing a fleeting moment between sleep and waking.

Have a peaceful day...

9.7 at 05.00 today. Not good.

Just realised that, if I don't do something soon, I'll run out of test strips for my old Aviva reader. So that was today's first job - putting an order in by e-mail which will be opened whenever the clinic decides to go back to work. I'll have to ration the remaining test strips to make sure they last out until the pharmacy can get the prescription. Ordered several other, less urgent, things while I was at it.

5.8 this morning.

Yesterday was a lovely and relaxing day with two walks in one of our local parks.

Mr K asked for my help with an IT problem. Since moving to Windows 11 the media player did not rip CDs. I was reluctant to help as I knew he had searched the internet extensively.

I did a search and got exactly the same info as he did - which didn't work.

Then l got really lucky. I stumbled across a you tube clip that explained the problem. The media player in our apps that we always used is now no longer the Windows media player. So to access it we had to go in through the Windows Tools app.

Problem solved. I think I got a Gold Star for that from Mr K.

Fbg was six point seven this morning.
Adrian is here for a few days he got a flight from Dublin to Birmingham a couple of days ago yesterday Keiran brought hi girlfriend over to meet us for the first time she is a lovely girl and brought a cheese cake she had made for us. Not sure how serious it is with them but they are talking about buying a house together so that should give us a clue.
I have a biopsy being carried out on Wednesday and have been told that chemo may be considered after that at some point and hopefully that may extend what time I have left so some thoughts and prayers would be appreciated.
So God bless you all and wishing you a happy and where applicable a spiritual Easter.

Morning and Happy Easter to you all. Congratulations to everyone for sticking with the program of checking BG levels once again. I have been following your posts with interest once again this week. @gennepher, another week of sharing creatives and frustrations with AI and bureaucracy. The ALT text is a wonderful idea. I have to say I would never visualise/imagine what the actual images are from the text but that is entirely my fault. Your ability to "paint a picture" and "give life" to a subject via language is as highly developed as your talent with visual media. Wonderful. Yesterday was JKP's birthday and the East Anglian boys (virtual wishes and song from Hampshire) treated us to a wonderful meal so no lamb today. Beef tomorrow with #3 son and partner. @JohnEGreen of course thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. To those sharing Easter Egg hunts with family or friends today, treasure the moments. They are what to hold onto in dark times, the shadow of something truly substantial. If even the shadow is this good ..... He is risen indeed, Alleluia!
