What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

I think it was a squirrel @gennepher.
However, as those folks of a certain North Eastern town thought was a French man. It could have been a monkey!
I've known foxes to be nosey but they don't like to be around close to humans.
It's a pity you didn't catch the blighter on one of your video cameras.

That is very interesting @Lamont D .
Our water is very hard here in Norfolk. It is horrible to drink from the tap. Actually Bonnie our puppy completely refuses to drink tap water and will only drink filtered water.

Thank you...I do need a good rest and sleep... @Lamont D
Sweet dreams for you as well...no sign of the alien beastie and I am in the bewitching hour now...
The alien beastie would not have registered on the trail cameras with the speed it went past them...

8.00am FBG 6.2 wait, what? It's supposed to go down if fasting longer. Does this mean that Dawn Phenomen is back?
Pouring with rain with a single thunderclap to wake us up this morning. The HH will not be working on the shed roof after all and I will not be out in the garden. Blessing in disguise? Some desperately needed housework might get done today. And the grass got watered, was too tired to do it last night.

Good morning all. fbs today was 9.1 Warm and windy weather here with rain forecast at c 4pm. Mr. dogslife has set up a wildlife camera in the garden, partly to see what keeps setting the intruder light off at night. Usually by the time we go to investigate there is nothing there. We suspect it is a fast moving cat that also passes through in the daytime. So far it has photographed a robin, a squirrel and what could be a large mouse, a vole or small rat attempting to eat the bird food. We are planning to situate the camera in different places to discover what other visitors we are getting after dark. Best wishes for today.

7.1 at 03.20 today. Libre alarm went off while I was in the shower so I had to just let it bleep away. When I eventually got to it, BG was 8.3.

Legs day today (for me - shopping day for Neil), but I'll need to muster enough energy to do some cooking - just in case visitors come tomorrow. If they don't, I'll use some and put the rest in the freezer, but I do like to be prepared. I'm one of those people who like to be waiting for ages on the platform for a train at a given time - just to make sure I don't miss it. I should have been a boy scout - "Be prepared".

Remember, due to the +/- 15% accuracy tolerance of the meter, the second reading could actually reflect lower BG than the first!

I have, to quote another member whose name I have forgotten, a very generous liver so DP is the bane of my life

9.9 today

6.8'this morning. Much quieter day today. Did loads of admin this morning. Then a relaxing afternoon and just two classes this evening.

I just wasn't at all hungry today. For my 2nd meal I had two hard boiled eggs and some raw sugar snap peas. Followed by some lovely natural crunchy peanut butter for dessert. It was actually the perfect sized meal for me today.

We have been very careful never to give Bonnie any food from or plates and she is very good when we eat. We did make that mistake with Poppy and Archie and vowed never to do that with Bonnie.

However, I did drop a sugar snap pea on the kitchen floor when I was walking to the sink to wash them. She caught it and ran out of the house like a rocket. If course you always have a clean kitchen floor with a Labrador.

That sounds like a perfect sized meal to me, too. Sometimes I want to eat more, but usually not.

The perfect balance to feeding a baby/toddler in a high chair I'd think. Although a friend's parents had a particularly stupid labrador which they had to get rid of - he had been accustomed to laying his head in her mum's lap when she sat on the stairs to use the phone (it was the 70s), then one day, there was a tiny baby in "his" place, which he removed, by grabbing its head in his jaws and dragging it off

Ouch!

Just as well I did. Had a phone call this afternoon to say I can expect 3 guests at lunchtime tomorrow. Just realised I have no bread so will have to make soda bread tomorrow morning.

I tried again 30 mins later and got 6.5. So I think it was DP. Certainly an hour after coffee with a dash of cream, BG down to 5.4.
I have been more or less ignoring the prediabetes for several stressful months while we searched for and then bought a different house.
Time to take charge again. DP I am calling time on you. Did it before, can be done again. Although a working kitchen would be a great help. MrSlim thinks three to four weeks. The summer sales start next Wednesday and we will be purchasing the large appliances and a sink. Plus units to fit them into. Bank will be squeaking.

What a horrible thing to have happened The poor baby could have been badly injured @debs248.

Yes - a working kitchen would be a great help @SlimLizzy

Fbg 6.2

No new beasties today...

Nearly forgot to do a creative for today...
I just didn't feel like doing much today...
I took a kaleidoscope of my diabetic socks, and another of my coloured pens, and imposed them on each other and that was the best I could do today.... actually I did quite a few of these and I like them.

Also just posted a new wildlife video.
