5 foot 10 inches and very bony, always had heavy bones, in my younger days I was 10 stone and fellow rugby players used to jest I was the only person they knew who had to run around in the shower to get wet.Morning all. @Muddy Cyclist how tall are you out of interest.
Eeekkk just on catch up and when I read this I thought you had all come up with a new challenge. A game. Only write one word post on a Friday! Thankfully I read it properly then! Phew....I would have been in real trouble with that one!!!dunelm 1 word FRIDAY!!!!
It actually was a training video for Polling Station Officials before the great referendum.....(no political bias intended, just could not resist the relationship to one cross and freedom)

Can't speak for all, but i'm loving it.
between you and the Trickster, the only thing missing for me was a suntan..
i'm a simple person living vicariously through other people's experiences when it's not my own.
yes..I'm a Holiday FREELOADER....
( pretty sure you said Eric retired, is he ok with you seeing a younger man behind his back...

Ps nice to see ya back, @trick60 ..
be interesting to see you on the FBG grand Prix grid..will you be wearing the 10 gallon hat OR the leather chaps..
who knows..YOU decide..
It would have been a hug ordinarily john for the 17.2...but you have made me smile so it's funny for now...no doubt you'll demolish that FBG level in a day or so.my grab bag would consist of...………...Bottle of Grey Goose Vodka and the twits (Sid and Trix) ohh and the Wife (maybe...…….sort of)
Fbg at 5am is 7.4
I reckon that is good for me. But I am still aiming for lower. However I wake up several times a night for the bathroom so I am now checking them a couple of times in the night. And I was in the 6’s both readings in the night.
What I am going to do today is not eat first thing like I normally do, just because I still feel full from yesterday. My stomach doesn’t feel empty this morning. And check how my blood sugars behave. I am going to wait until midday and have my 3 hour eating window then. That will make this at least a 24 hour fast in this intermittent fasting. Yet I am still eating plenty of food. My normal food - very low carb (spellcheck keeps changing carb to card???) stuff.
I do have treats. I like my treats, but they are low (ish) carb. However, I have my treats and chocolate between the two meals I have. Because the second meal appears to absorb or nullify any extra carbs in the treats (although they are still low carb). Having chocolate after my last meal even as a dessert seems to higher my blood sugar levels the rest of the day. But not if I have it before the last meal.
I like writing down these observations what I eat and do for the diabetes, on a day, on here. Writing them in a private notebook doesn’t have the same impact for me. It is useful for me to collate my thoughts on this thread.
I always have at least an hour meditation and reflection time when I wake up. This is my half hour reflection time for today. Now for half an hour or so meditation.
By the way, doesn’t it feel winter has arrived? Not because it is colder, but it is DARK outside!!!
Time for hibernation soon...
Ah, another observation. I don’t know if any of you have noticed or feel this, but when I do this intermittent fasting, time stretches, and I get so much more done in the day.
Yesterday (because of the intermittent fasting) I got so much done - in studying (I do online courses, yesterday was analysing the novel, today is analysing fairy tales) and my mind is so much more alert and not sluggish, and in gardening (I am cutting down willow and bamboo because I am repairing a willow bower I made, with J, all those years ago and recent storms uprooted it and irreparably damaged it) and so today this morning as soon as it is light (dawn is doing a few streaks now) I will do a cobble up job to recreate that bower again with anything in the garden and garage. It will definitely look interesting.
I have frequent rests on my thatched swing with the cat, and I actually feel I am having a lazy restful day.
The intermittent fasting gives me more get up and go (it’s just my arthritic body that has has restrictions and decides to stop, so time out on my thatched swing), more mental alertness, and more positivity.
That is my manifesto for today. And I have eaten into my meditation time writing this extra bit. But hey time stretches when I intermittent fast and I have all the time in the world...
You all have a good day.
My good wishes to all of you especially those who have medical stuff and procedures going on.
May the force be with you!
Oh I'm using that in.my presentation! The most useful tool in this fight. Thanks PM xMorning All. 6.0 today which is acceptable. I have been eating very carefully this week mostly meat free. I do find if I overdo the meat it does raise my numbers. @gennepher very interesting post and thanks for sharing your knowledge completely agree with you and @Krystyna23040 a meter is the most useful tool in this fight. As regards chocolate I comitted a big sin yesterday @DJC3. I was filling up the treat tin (that I dont have access to) with Dark Choc Mint Kit Kats (I just buy whats on offer) and the smell seduced me. This was just before lunch (salad) and 4 hours later my BG was 7.6. Eeek! I thought the two fingers were small and too sweet so that wont be happening again.
@Muddy Cyclist have a great weekend despite the weather. @jjraak good to see your late post you were on my mind. All our thoughts with @ianpspurs today I am sure.
Have a great Friday. Stay well, stay safe, no proroguing!
So funny i had to read to hubby!I am doing an animal protein free day today because I am in the garden doing outdoor projects - easy to nibble nuts and fruits, no preparation or cooking involved.
I know what you mean about dark choc mint kit kats. My friends wave them in front of me saying you can have the dark chocolate with your diabetes. So I say I will just lick the dark chocolate off....next thing I know I have completely sucked out the inside bit as well...aagh...so never again like you!!!
Yes of course...and my Churchill is having his own bag.Are we allowed a bag per person?
Have a good Tuesday everyone.
5.5 this morning which is good because I had a huge chunk of cheese at 10pm when I got home from work. I was starving.
Rushing out shortly to take doggies for a walk then off for a blood test. I feel a bit dispirited because I know that my hba1c will be way higher than my BS readings suggest that it should be.
Morning All. 6.2 after a terrible nights sleep and a grumbly tummy. I am getting more and more disturbed by what is going on in the country. Why on earth are they all going to the seaside for their hols? So @Bubbsie I would need a grab trailer as I have been stockpiling for a while. But if it has to be a bag then gin (obs), meter, and food for my cats, and my cats. Are we allowed a bag per person?
Have a good Tuesday everyone. Stay well stay safe.
Hi Saskia6.1 Tuesday morning. I was about to wish all of you "Happy Tuesday" and then I started seeing posts about packing bags. So I turned off Magnum and went on a TV search for news. Weird. Bahamas, China, Downton Abbey, and dinosaurs -- nothing about what is going on in the UK. I tried Googling. Nothing. I am appalled. The width of an ocean is no excuse for US isolationism in the 21st century when we have nearly a dozen news channels over here and not one is covering whatever is going on over there.
So hugs, and hopes that all will be well.
Hi Saskia
Another great fbg so happy for you. Just google Parliament of Westminster yesterday (Monday) and all should be revealed. I have never been good at packing so I will be travelling light. Actually we are off to the south of Spain on Sat for a week with eldest son, brother, SIL so poor old Bobs & Daisy will be going to the cattery. They are lovely couple who run it though and dont take in too many so they should be fine. My old cat Ginger used to treat it like his timeshare, would arrive, inspect and get settled straightaway.
Hope the meds are still going well and you and the KC have a good day.
