What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen.
I sit here in the peace and quiet, drinking tea, possibly koffy later.
The weather will be what it will be.

We had the eldest son and his family round for dinner, very enjoyable, but a restock is now required.

Now I’m off before Mrs J stirs.

Good morning Alf. I'm sitting drinking coffee now - 2nd cup of the day.

BG at 04.30 was 6.0. Suits me.

Just ordered a camera/microphone for my desktop PC. I need it for Zoom meetings but my little tablet has, more or less, given up the ghost. I did try my old laptop, but it's just not having anything to do with Zoom. Or rather, Zoom is having nothing to do with it.
 
Life is tough in the technology world.
 
Good to see you here Alf and very good to read that the family dinner was enjoyable. Take care of yourself, although Mrs AJ seems to be doing a great job.

Alistair has been in with the post and was in considerable pain but determined to finish his round. Whatever it is that is wrong with his neck/shoulders, it is getting worse and now is pretty well unbearable. He tells me he is going off sick from when he finishes his shift today and may well be off long term, until something can be done (if it can) to ease the pain. On his day off last week, the replacement postie told DIL that everyone at the office was worried about him because they could see he was sick with the pain, and lack of sleep. Well - he's given in at last.

Phone calls and texts to and from medical team s this morning.
Mrs L has had a lazy day.
And I think I have upset her.
Nothing changes does it?
It rained so no painting today.
Very damp today.

7.25am FBG 6.2
HH is coming today to do some cleaning and possibly insulation in the cellar.
Its raining, promise of heavy rain and thunderstorm later has me concerned. If we do get an inundation the insulation stacked down there will get wet. MrSlim is confident he has fixed the water ingress. I am less certain. We shall see. This is definitely a time when I would like to be proved wrong.

8.6 at 03.20 today. Higher than recently but tum is upset again, so maybe that's why.

I have been using walnuts to try to keep control of my BG and it has worked, until yesterday. The internal troubles may be due to some chickpea pasta that I used a couple of days ago and once over that I should be able to get back to the lower BGs.
 
Good morning all from L.A. where the weather continues to be dressed as pseudo summer, for which much thanks be to God. I know not my fbg as I await my next scan next week so am not wearing a sensor. Finger pricking lost any appeal it never had a long, long time ago, though I can still remember how that music used to make me smile. @Annb hug for the digestive system issues. @gennepher thank you for sharing today's and all your other artworks. I hope your sciatica is less troublesome today. @alf_Josiah good to see you posting again and seemingly returning to form. You have all been very patient reading this so bye, bye from this (insert any of the 72 genders that apply) Little American Pie.

Put your email on out of office and anyhow, Mr K has told you many millions of times about exaggerating plus sending all those emails all summer and making those exercises harder. He knew, Mr K always knows

Fbg 6.8

I completely forgot to eat today with the stress..
I have been very stressed the last few days. There was a water leak in my kitchen. I thought I could deal with it but I quickly realise because of the age of the tap and valve, there was nothing I could do.
My next problem was none of the plumbers were responding to me sending an urgent text to them. Finally, someone suggested I try Checkatrade, because they said it was just online stuff for you to arrange it but it wasn't that's simple. They all wanted a voice call.....
Finally on Tuesday today, a guy responded to my text'this afternoon ...
He was a lovely plumber... he replaced the plumbing with new pipes. But more work is needed the water stopcock needs changing. So he is coming back for that.

But he says that this leak has been going on for months unnoticed... and it is only Sunday it's actually showed as water on my floor. He thinks that wooden floor would be rotten by now.... I am sincerely hoping not...

I have had my dehumidifier on more than two days now. And on full blast, it seems to cost £5 a day.

Anyway, looking in my sketchbook again... here is Glastonbury Tor in felt tips.

Night night from me. I've been very stressed over this water problem, but I have ended up in quite a bad rash and that is unusual for me....

Thank you for sharing your beautiful artwork of Glastonbury Tor. It was a ray of joy in an otherwise downbeat post. I hope the floor dries out and the rash goes away. Like everyone else here I am full of admiration for your resilience but do remember to eat today. This was shared by John Green, God rest his soul, but the way you deal with life's trials and tribulations seems to me to make it a perfect fit. The text has an explicitly Christian orientation (which is why John shared it) but the gist applies to you and others here who aren't Christian in spades.
