What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

7.9 at 05.45 today.

Just back from town. I had 2 appointments, one at the optician's at 10.10 and the other at the Health Centre at 10.55. I had deliberately asked for the eye appointment to be early enough to get to my leg bandaging appointment in time. However, after the diabetic eye screening was done, I sat and waited, but nothing happened. I asked the receptionist if I would be finished by 10.45 to allow me time to get to my next appointment. "Oh no. The appointment will take about an hour." Nothing for it but to reschedule the appointment for a fortnight hence. I don't understand why the first receptionist made that appointment time if she knew it would take that long.

Coming home, I found a letter saying that my appointment at the hospital had been cancelled and would I come on 30th September instead. I didn't have an appointment. It is from the diabetes department for an appointment with a podiatrist, but I haven't been seen by their podiatrist for 4 years. All very odd. I'll have to phone and see what it's all about.

,5.1 this morning.

Had a lovely walk in the park with Bonnie. She was really good today. The last couple of days she has been a bit loopy - which she always is with a full moon.
I'd watch Bonnie carefully, didn't she come from Littleport? Reports in the Cambs news of puppies being half Lab, half Werewolf. Unfortunate mistake with a batch of dog food sold to breeders. Very hush, hush so kept out of the national news - rumours of hefty brown envelopes involved:D

That is so funny @ianpspurs

Today is #8 first day at school and very smart and grown up he looks in his uniform.
I didn't want to go my first day, but #8 didn't want to leave at the end of his first day.

Mrs L had a psychotic episode yesterday, and I suffered for it.
Mental health practitioner didn't turn up and it was a really nightmarish day in many ways.
Having a quieter day today.
6.8 today after a 7.2 yesterday.
Today it was a beautiful morning, but it has not stopped raining this afternoon.
The weather is teasing us.
I really hope everyone is having a better Thursday than I have.
Mrs L has lost something out of her bag. And doesn't know where it is. And it's my fault again!
My best wishes to you all.

Next page in my sketchbook...

In watercolour...

I am posting a little earlier today 4:30 pm, because I know I'm ready to fall asleep, and I'll only go and wake up just a few minutes before the time of midnight, so I better post now....

Cat Midnight is fast asleep on my printer... he has just shared my tea of ham and some cheese...

So good night from me...
Sweet dreams....

When I went to check on the recycle bags, I put out last night, it was obvious the badgers, had visited every house who put that food waste bucket out, and despite them supposedly being badger proof, every single food waste bucket was opened and the whole road looked like a tip.

I don't put a food waste bucket out because I don't have any food waste, and also anything I have, I give to my wormery, because I've started my wormery again, so I don't have that particular badger problem.....

This will not let me attach a photograph, so I'll be back in a minute with a link to my painting...

Let's see if this works...

There’s something odd going on with this PC. I just keyed in a message in a Word Processor - because I keep losing posts and, at least with a word processed document I can undo the last action and not lose everything I’ve already done. Well, that didn’t work today. 3 paragraphs disappeared on me from the word processor, which shut itself down and lost everything. Aaargh!

And it just did it again after I’d keyed in another paragraph. I’ll have to save after every line at this rate.

What I was trying to say was: I have had a spot-cum-mole on my jaw for a while – it was a spot which had been there for years but about 4 weeks ago I noticed that it had grown and developed a rough surface. I can’t see it, only feel it. Having failed over these weeks to get an appointment with a GP I decided to ask the nurse who was doing my bandaging this week, what she thought. She said she doesn’t know anything about moles.

She went to get a GP to have a look at it then and there but came back, after a while, with another nurse bearing a camera and with the instruction to take a picture to send to a dermatologist on the mainland. She showed me the picture and, to be honest, it doesn’t look very healthy.

The thing is, I’ve had quite a few of these spots-developed-into-something-else cut out because someone thought they could be dangerous, so best to get it checked. It’s probably nothing to bother with. Maybe I’ll get to hear something about it eventually.
