Thank you for the compliment @ianpspursMorning all from a sunny and still L.A. where the heating was triggered despite being set parsimoniously low - in some people's opinion. Libre sensor fitted and bedding in. 3.6 at 7.10 - probably due to laying on my right arm which is unusual. Then settled at 4.7 by 9.11 and now -10.00 am - at 4.9. That's o.k. if not wonderful but bearing in mind my backstory and lack of steps a good away point in Europe kind of effort. @gennepher thank you for sharing the splendid art. @Annb hug for the pain, friends passing away and Alistair having that news. Next week is half term in the strange world of West Suffolk and the more closely aligned with normal world of East Cambs so we have grandchildren. Two to sleep over for two nights and the other two here in the day at least one of those days. JKP has organised a van load (other metrics are available) of snacks because who needs money or seats.
@AnnbNeil's just back from his GP appointment. The GP turned out to be a physio. She wasn't able to diagnose anything but suggested some exercises which might help. Seems odd to me - surely the order should be 1 diagnosis 2 refferal to whatever special help is needed and 3 treatment? What we seem to have here is 1 treatment, 2 see if it works and 3 go away and leave us alone.
Yet again, yesterday, the nurse had no instructions to take blood. She went to try to find out about it for me and it turns out that the GP I saw who was to send through the request, has gone on holiday without doing anything about it. Why someone else can't do it, I don't know. It's not as if she knew anything more about me than any of the other doctors - never having met me before. Maybe next week. Who knows?
I wish there were some (or even one) private practice on the islands. There actually is something called "Hebridean Aesthetics" in Stornoway but I can't find out what service they offer. It looks like an individual but no qualifications are shown on the website. If I want to see a doctor, I want to see a doctor, not some kind of less or non qualified therapist. Nearest private clinic I can see is in Dundee. Others in Glasgow and Edinburgh.
That would make a lovely Christmas card, Gennepher.2025 gennepher >^..^< — All Rights Reserved

It is so frustrating, Gennepher. Enough to make you ill even if you aren't at the start. There's a lot of talk about at the moment about mental health (or lack of it) and I wonder how much can be put down to the frustrations of trying to cope with badly designed systems and protocols, along with people who are working in caring roles when they don't really care. I'm not talking here about the good work done by doctors and nurses and other health professionals, just some of them.@Annb
I was called in, a couple of weeks ago, to see the receptionist via a no reply text, to see something important that had been added to my 'journal'.
When I went in, the receptionist had no idea what it was and in any case she said she did not have the authority to show me. And she did not have the authority to make me an appointment, because there was nothing on my notes...sorry not patient notes...my journal', there was nothing in my 'journal' to say I needed an appointment, so the receptionist cannot make it
I really don't get it... I had to verbally ask her to make an appointment and she said oh I can do that, but only with the last person you saw... and there are no appointments available until end of November. So this urgent message to come in, I have no idea what it was about.... and it is wasting my time making an appointment with the last person I saw, because I need an appointment with the next person in the system...
Why ?Good Afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen.
We are in the throes of moving from Android to I phone. Give me quantum mechanics any day. It’s a good thing I am very hairy with plenty of hair to pull out.
Stay well all.
No nèd to think about the thread atm. Just take care of Mrs L and yourself. It sounds as if you are getting some help from family, which is good. Best wishes to you and Mrs L for the difficult days ahead.Quick update on Mrs L.
Will still be in hospital till Monday but I would not be surprised that it will be longer.
Just home after another long day.
I won't say what it is, but Mrs L is on strong anti biotics and is getting her other diabetic and pain meds sorted and that is just one of the reasons for staying in.
Mrs L is improving every day. And the care is brilliant. But some of the patients, OMG!
There will be another team coming to look at our house to see if they can are to the adaptations.
We will see.
I just wonder if they can fix the bay window!
Yes, it needs repairing again! OMG!
Garden is full of debris from the high winds, plenty of rain and windy. Been rather cold first thing or maybe second or third! Have no clue what day it is?
I had to cancel my counselling. I couldn't be objective with Mrs L in hospital. Aaaaagghhhh!
But I'm okay. I haven't followed the thread. I'm sorry. And I would like to thank everyone who has sent or posted their best wishes. And I have mentioned it to Mrs L, but Mrs L, is not totally with us, most of the time. And the other most of the time, is asleep and been asked to be in the ward when not!
I less one of the family is there.
Zzzz,zzzz!
Goodnight, God bless etc.
Best wishes.
