What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

I'd been wondering where you were, I missed you. Today I was going to contact a moderator to see if they could send you an e-mail to see if you were OK.
I felt as you did about the site's being down. All I got was the FORBIDDEN ACCESS page. I thought it was my computer, because about the same time my tablet suddenly could not access the Open Library site. I thought it was either my devices, or my wifi, or something ... I had no idea that this site was down for maintenance.

Apparently they did not bother to inform any of us. Someone said they posted a notice on Twitter, but I don't do Twitter. One of the mods said they weren't warned either, and I still haven't seen what the promised "surprise" is.

As to Apple and your phone, that is inexcusable of them. My cell service required me to buy a new phone this year because of their upgraded service -- and expense I did not need -- and yet it was nothing at all compared to what you and the other victims of the Apple fiasco.

Sometimes it seems to me that all this modern "communication" is anything BUT communication. In my own experience, cell phones and Facebook have served only to distance people and break up community feeling.

Please don't be away long. Hug.

@HarryBeau Is there another shelter with kittens that you could try? That bacterial infection in such young kittens sounds scary, especially with other kittens and cats in the same facility. I would hate to see you start off with baby kitties who may not have the healthiest constitutions because of their early start in life. I've seen health problems in rescued kittens as well as "well bred" ones from a breeder and you deserve to have some healthy animals to love and care for through a long happy life together.

ooh..my head..

Great day yesterday..drank a little more then expected,

Was meant to be just 3 of us, meeting at 1pm, but rather pleasantly, others came later during day in dribs and drabs to join us..a lunch time session evolved into a full evening session..(almost)

My first real drink this year apart from holidays, and i think i've turned into a bit of light weight, judging by those who started with me, still looking ok, as i had to call it a night around 10pm..LoL

Seems i came home, sat on arm of couch, announced i was pappily hissed ()
roll back on to the couch seat, legs draped over the arm of the couch, and began snoring.

(Which is better then the last time i came home like that, where i intended to sneak into bed quietly, but caught my foot taking of my jeans, stumbled over a free standing oil heater, scared the bejasus out of the cat, while swearing in japanese..so i'm told..)
Good job it's only once in a blue moon...

Our adopted cat, then took great delight in kneading me with it's paws, before curling up on me for the night.
awoke at 3 am, stumbled off to bed and awoke, feeling a tad worse for wear, about midday.

So hoping i survive the recovery,
to whit i'm here now sipping copious amounts of tea.
trying to decide if a good fry up would be helpful or not ,,decisions, decisions

Reading was 5.7 on waking, so quite happy with that.

day is dictated by self infliction, to be a simple one..( for now. )

hope all is ok out there, wherever you all are.
Best wishes for your day.

@gennepher
Another wishing you a rapid solution to such a vexing issue.
best wishes and as others say, don't be away too long.

sorry sorry thank you I needed that. (Hug for after-effects).

@SaskiaKC just watching lunchtime news about the wild fires in California and they showed loose horses just running around trying to escape ....made me think of you...poor creatures I hope they escaped. Daisy is a bit crazy today and has been racing around jumping overchairs and up on the back of the sofa and then off around the house again. Dont know what it means but its almost like she has eaten a bowl of sweeties. How are you and the KC today?

@PenguinMum thank you for thinking of the KittenCat and me. We are doing well. I'm eating worse and feeling better than I've eaten and felt for awhile, so even though I know it's "wrong" I am enjoying feeling pretty good. It's also been nice recently to feel part of the physical community where I live as well as the online community that I often prefer! There is a lot less negativity online, and a lot more people with whom I share common interests, than in the physical world where I "live."

It sounds like Daisy is experiencing second kittenhood. The KittenCat goes through phases like this sometimes and I love watching her high-tailing it around the apartment. My late MasCat often did the same thing when she was quite elderly, including climbing the curtains in our previous apartment. They were floor-to-ceiling length, and she would start at the bottom and go all the way up!

ETA: I sometimes feel that this country is about to undergo a huge change, and that it will start in California. A friend of mine wants to visit California before -- as she says -- it falls into the sea. I don't think it will do that, but I do wonder how long it is going to last ... things out there are pretty horrible and getting worse, from what I hear. Residents are leaving in droves, and even with all the money that is there, no one seems able or inclined to do anything for the place.

Not to mention money. Costing a fortune in petrol but all in a good cause. Trying to get funding to do support sessions in community..doubt will get though. Love helping. Cousin sent me this just yesterday:

'I’ve finally taken control and had a wake up call. I started on 12th September and am 11kgs down so far but more importantly my blood sugar has gone from 150 (beginning of September) to 97! The upper limit is 115 so I’m well happy. If this continues I can stop taking the meds to control sugar so I don’t get full blown diabetes. My bp is also the lowest it’s ever been. I feel and look so much better. Just wanted to say thanks. I’ve got an awful long way to go but I’ll get there x'

Its good to hear you are in a happy place and the interaction with neighbours is definitely good for you. I’ve just gone to check on Daisy and found her underneath her night blanket in the dark. They are both usually on the sofa with me at this time. I think when she went out after breakfast today something must have spooked her. Well it is Halloween I suppose! Hope the KC doesnt get spooked by fireworks tonight

Many thanks I will give them a whirl

@jjraak you poor boy but it will have done you good to meet up with old mates and the cat and Lauren of Arabia will forgive you. You will be right as rain tomo. Since I dropped a bit of weight and eat less I cant tolerate gin like before.
