@SaskiaKC I'm wondering what your tenancy or lease says about major works...what notice/consultation is required surely you & the other residents must have some say in how/when the work is carried out...could you put something in writing re: the previous issue with the sprinklers & how the work over the holidays may cause distress to you the others & their families...these managers have a duty to consult the residents they may be working for a management company ultimately they are working for you & the others who live there.
Thank you so much, @HarryBeau . I appreciate your advice.
I have just been on the phone with someone at the local Housing Compliance office, which has some influence over government-subsidized apartment buildings. My previous experience trying to get the management here to handle a problem has been very negative -- they smile and nod and then they do absolutely nothing. It is like banging my head against a brick wall and literally praying that the wall won't decide to bang back. Especially now at Christmastime.
The person I spoke with just now has said they will contact the management here; fortunately I have an anonymous e-mail address I could give, and blocked my phone number, so I don't think there is any way the management here can trace the call back to me. I just can't afford to get kicked out over Christmas -- or any other time!
I love seeing the pics of Charlie and Lola. They certainly are growing! They look healthy and happy and like they are completely at home with you.
Bless you for asking.. @SaskiaKC
Great strides this week.
Lad was awake, speaking in depth about things and had eaten two mcdonalds beef burgers when I saw him yesterday.
Still in ICU, and now has pneumonia.
But it didn't seem to be causing any issues apart from the fact he's now back on oxygen to reduce the fluid build up in lungs.
Hope is once pneumonia passes he goes down to a high dependency recovery ward, so the nurses say.
Then please god on to as full recovery as possible.
No mental incapacity, kidneys and liver improving so docs say.
So all in all... Things looking much brighter for him and family.
Hugs for being foresighted enough to protect yourself with this complaint/enquiry. It is hard to get others in the same situation to band together on an issue. I can understand their reticence to get involved.
I would back you up with this if I lived in the same apartment building.

Here's the little poem I sent a few years ago for info.
Out tonight for dinner with my Tesco diabetic group. Dashing.
I was waiting at Norwich bus station when a group of ladies got off a bus all dressed in purple with red hats.
For a moment I wondered why they were all dressed like that - then I remembered the line in the poem Warning 'When I am an old woman I shall wear purple with a red hat which doesn't go, and doesn't suit me'.
They were definitely having a great time. It was lovely to see a group of people so happy..
4.4 this morning. Hairdressers this morning so will take early bus to Norwich with my flask of coffee and the newspapers to read on the hour long bus journey. Must start getting ready - first and most important job is to make my flask of coffee.
