What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

@SaskiaKC I like your sky pic very much...makes me wish I could paint!
Hope you and the KC are having a good day.

Thank you. We are having a nice quiet peaceful day after the opticians' visits yesterday. It is 32 degrees outside so we are glad to be inside with the AC on, and the KittenCat is sunbathing on the window sill. We hope you and the kitties are having a good day too.

I haven't painted since kindergarten. :) I do enjoy coloring -- as long as someone else has drawn the lines!

Its a lovely evening..just in from watering the garden..the girls are out and am expecting Bobs in soon with prey. They would be locked in at this time normally but our evenings are stretching out with sunshine late and I cant deny them the fun. I have a four way lockable sensor catflap which only allows our chipped cats in. Glad you have a/c with those temperatures.

Wow. Just wow. I've been trying to figure out how to do a day trip to either of the two small towns I've been thinking of moving to. I'd like to go and check them out. Haven't figured out how to get there yet.

Just out of curiosity, I planned a pretend trip from London to Lower Slaughter, because that is a village I've visited, I knew the area a bit at one time, and it's about the same distance.

Wow. Easy peasy. Train from Paddington to Moreton In Marsh, about a hour and a half. Then walk about a mile to Lower Slaughter.

Wow.

@DJC3 what a sweet pic! I love it.

I bet @PenguinMum and @Bubbsie would love to see this too. Maggie looks definitely like a mag-pied kitty!

She’s a lovely natured cat - actually belongs to next door neighbours but has adopted us since they got a dog and ours sadly died.
It works very well as we have the comfort of a pet without any of the responsibility ( neighbour still pays for food - she brings it round to us every week, and vet bills are her responsibility). If we are away the neighbour has to come into our house to feed her - Maggie has made her position very clear - she lives with us now and completely rules the roost like cats do.

You will be getting some serious steps in then when/if you do go.

For all cat lovers ( @gennepher @SaskiaKC @zauberflote spring to mind) this is Maggie yesterday. I found her asleep in the greenhouse I was going to clear out. She’s asleep on an empty plastic plant pot. How the rim doesn’t cut in and make it a supremely uncomfortable bed is beyond me. I’ve tried putting nice comfy cushions around indoors but she never goes near them. View attachment 33078
Looks happy enough being planted!

Morning all. Bright and crisp down here on the Coast. The footie party is over for another season. Back on the wagon.

FBG 8.7 mmo/lt at 0545. Weight down now 14 lbs this year, despite recent celebrations.

Awoke from strange dream of entering burnt out shell of Salisbury Cathedral. (confusion, Notre Dame?) Hope this is not a portent. Will keep away from fire today.

Morning All. 6.1 after a restless night with some pain on brow above and cheekbone below my dodgy eye and feeling nauseaus. Of course this could be nothing to do with my dodgy eye and just coincidence. Just wondered @BibaBee if any of this sounds familiar with Mr B? My first injection next Wed.
Any way slow start to day. Hoping to start meal plan/shopping for weekend. Youngest son visiting later.
Have a great day everyone. Stay well, stay safe.

11.9 when Dawn was streaking across the sky.

Not happy with that.

But I was out all day yesterday. Got overtired and couldn’t relax to sleep when I got home.

I thought I had eaten okay even though I ate out. I ate the low or no carb stuff on the breakfast plate, but I did have a bowl of fruit and cream.

I was frustrated with one shop I went in to look for eyedrops. Their chain of shops has been gradually closing and this is the only one near me now. It was 10:30 in the morning so not that early but when they get a delivery, which Is always on every day I go, they just throw and strew the goods, and individual items across the aisles. It is hazardous even for a person on 2 legs. But for a person even on the smallest size mobility scooter, it is impossible. The only staff there appears to be on the till. I start with kick the item away with my foot but this is tiring, and then it becomes...how many items can I run over...

I found the different eye drops I had gone in for, there seemed to be a good range. I spent three quarters of an hour choosing, but on the way to the till, I suddenly remembered to check the sell by date. They ranged from 2018 to January 2019....what? Every one was out of date. No wonder they had a ‘good’ range. They must have been from their stores that had closed. I put my basket down (vigorously), and drove like a bat out of hell out of the shop (on my mobility scooter).

Next shop was Marks & Sparks. Nothing wrong with their shop. All fine until I got to the till. I was looking for chocolate, dark chocolate. And I found some. I bought half a dozen different bars to try. Then this customer in front of me looks wide eyed at my bars of chocolate on the conveyer belt thingy, puts one of her hands flat actually on my chocolate physically touching/holding down my bars of chocolate, wags her finger at me and shakes her head from side to side, and says “All this chocolate”.

It was the physical touching and holding my food goods down that upset me. She was lucky she was still standing.

I wouldn’t dream of doing that to a man with just crates of beer on the conveyer belt to the till....

I nearly left my chocolate, but I was getting tired by this time. I am rarely near a Marks&Sparks, but now I am home, I can still see her hand on my chocolate.

Next shop I had met with my friend. They have moved the aisles closer together so they can get extra aisles in. This makes it harder for anyone, and the aisles are too close to look at the goods on the shelves properly and they are darker now because not enough lighting. But the worst thing for me in my small mobility scooter is all the tall baskets they place with extra goods in, on either side of the entrance to each aisle and in the aisle as well, making it impossible for any wheelchair user, or an elderly grumpy old biddy on a mobility scooter. My friend knows I will make a point (or several points) so she was rushing ahead moving the tall baskets out of the way...

In the end she said, let’s go for a coffee instead...

Anyone in a mobility scooter want to play this new arcade game I have devised? Only it is in real shopping aisles with basket obstructions that need to be cleared...

I need the potting shed today with moggy...

Have a good day.

Once I had my eye diagnosis, and was told that I should be feeling pain like you describe, especially at night. I did start feeing pain after that. I don’t know if the pain was psychological with me, or whether I was feeling something I should have been feeling.

So my advice would be if anything gets worse with that seek extra advice from NHS or your optician/optometrist. Ring your hospital or eye specialist if you can.

When you get reassured on something it seems to go away. So try and get that reassurance. (My optometrist gave me that reassurance after checking my eyes over, because I still had 6 weeks to wait at that time before the laser treatment)

Hugs x
