What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Morning Luvvies...

It's all the 6's here

6 am and i'm up at Six Rivers Falls with a 6.0 on the Guessometer

( Ok a little lie about the 6 am..but ya all started the day WITHOUT ME..:bigtears:..)

But i am out scoping out locations, you know .."Just in case" i get THAT call that says project Finger Prick is a GO ! :D

So, so far i think to not give away too much of the the thread plot, we are survivors of a Post Apocalytic Carbohydrate storm,
which has laid waste to much of what WE called society, so we are drifting.

I think to capture that moment we need an atmospheric theme Tune to open the Film..

rather spookily i had my normal morning convo with Alexa..
"Morning alexa, resume MY Music...and this, dear people was the FIRST song up..

I KNOW O-M-G..How weird is that....:wideyed:

but i think it's JUST Perfect...

Love to know what you all think would be best, or any songs or moments that might be suitable
.
Thinking of it as Guardians of the Galaxy, ( there's a little treat.)style...(pondering david batistuta for @ianpspurs and Vin Diesel of Arni for @johnpol )
Lots of Music, maybe even go the old style...thinking i might be carrying a Walkman as a sort of odd ball character thing

Anyway the 'provisional' theme tune

and THIS seems right for the DX Moments we all faced.

we all had that moments where Nothing of use was said, right..

that stunned silence at the Guilty verdict, handed down from those on high, with no real advise or Hope

The sounds running around our heads as we slowly walked home, shaken, shattered and
then looked it up :woot:..., and sat there bereft of hope..

Isnt Alexa just the best invention (apart from when she just doesnt listen!!).

This version of the sound of silence is my absolute favourite, going to ask Alexa to play me to sleep with it later.

Brilliant choice..a most underrated actress.

for those who know her for Waynetta and harry enfield

she is SO much more.
first saw here in Nil By Mouth with ray winstone.
a gritty film to say the least :wideyed:, and a testament to the acting that it IS a difficult watch,
she was brilliant.

So Kathy burke it is..

pencilled in my diary for you.

I've invested in a projector for my presentations. Flash sale Amazon. Less than £50. I can do a VIP screening in our mancave (aka garage). Red carpet affair, champagne on arrival. Formal dress only. Paparazzi more than welcome (I will be spouting off my usual media stuff 'HCLF SUCKS, THERE NEEDS TO BE LCHF OPTION *** WHY DONT THEY LISTEN , SCREW THE DESMOND COURSE!!' that sort of thing, smiling through gritted teeth for the camera ;-)

As I'm one of the stars played by the notable Shakespearean actress Miss Kathy Burke...I would say the chances of her being seated & staying on a mountain bike are minimal...never mind the poor Ninja Penguin who's feet will never be able to reach the pedals...I think we need a meeting with the producers & the director.
I'm literally peeing my pants!

good afternoon all :)

4.3 today

the new microwave seems to be a big success :)

@Debandez I think one of the first things to note about my BG readings is that I lost more than half my body weight over, from memory, about the 18 months after diagnosis, (not an option for everyone), I was extremely obese at diagnosis and had been generally putting on weight since my teens, I've obviously been somewhat carb intolerant for a long time but, like almost everyone else, I tried to follow the standard dietary 'advice' for many, many years :banghead:

I now eat a mix of two and three times a day, depends on when I have my 'main meal' (eg. Sunday it's mid afternoon), but I usually try not to eat much after 6pm, if I'm hungry in the evening I try to keep it to a snack of protein :D I aim for under 80g of carb a day, so not ultra LC. I tend to know when my weekly carb average has crept because I put weight on :sorry:

I have noticed that if I do a lot of exercise my fasting bg can be higher, almost as if my body is increasing the base level of reserve available ;) Likewise, if I don't eat at tea time or get up a bit later in the morning I do get a bit of dp.

I have great admiration for people who can do IF but it no longer suits me not to eat fairly regularly, before diagnosis, when I had a big buffer of onboard fat, I could go hours past a mealtime without worrying about it, now I sometimes get a bit stressed if I don't eat.

Probably TMI @Debandez but if any information I have can be helpful it's available. We're all different people I know and one size does not fit all

Hope your day is treating you well :)
Thank you for this. I find everyone's eating info so helpful. Never TMI!

Corner seat dismantled and corner of the garden cleared. My blues harmonica as not yet arrived although the Ai in our home tells me it is imminent. So I dashed off a 20 min A4 watercolour sketch inspired by a track I passed today when out on my Mountain Bike, trees were all across the track, not been this way for a couple of years, this used to be a good fun track.

Here it be....

So you managed to squeeze in a masterpiece between a muddy bike ride, woodwork, sorting deliveries, no doubt playing musical instruments and writing a film script. I think you need to up your game.

Btw i do feel sorry for poor old @Debandez when she comes back to look at the unread posts
after doing SO well to catch up this morning.....:hilarious::hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:.

(soz, debs..you KNOW we all love and admire you..XX
and your Steve McQueen..<manly hug> xx )
I turned my back for one minute with a smug look on my visage and turned back to over 80 posts!! I feel there has been a subplot! You have all got together to wipe the smug look off my face and replace it with the Scream! And believe you me, it worked!

6am FBG 5.8 Back to bed.
8.30 FBG 6.1
Had Breakfast
Am thinking that part of the reason it varies is we have no routine.
I get up when I wake up. As the song says. Usually between 6.30 and 8.00.
Dinner time depends on what time we finished work, how long it takes to cook and can be anything from 6pm - 9pm, occasionally later.
Currently about 7. 30 - 8 seems to be the norm. Last few days have been trying to eat earlier. But it's just not happening. We have started decotating the kitchen. Which doesnt help. Today was 7.40

Good evening/morning, @trick60 and everyone, including Toads in holes and Halls and pancakes, and of course bins!
