What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good morning all from a mild Forest Heath where it is still winter which I can't feign any love for in these surroundings. I await 2 Swipeys but "the project" is unchanged. Find a woe that is nutritious, family friendly, tastes half way decent and still keeps me non D. Bono and the lads have a song about that. @gennepher good luck with that plan and thanks for the creative. Christmas cards? Lovely idea of yours and I know Muddy Cyclist does something similar. They are an issue in this house since I feel they should go the way of gas mantles and knocker uppers. @SlimLizzy I hope you find a venue for the tests and progress on the roofing is a blessing. @dunelm still unsupervised (unless the young 'uns have you monitored remotely) thanks for the artwork which is sure to be forthcoming. Will it be a tree by any chance? Have a safe day though we do seem to be living in an elaborate Brain Rix farce ( charitable view since it the season of goodwill) - I miss those, John Arlott, Dan (oh, I say) Maskell and Bill McLaren. St Lucy's day today. The Swedish do this well like so much else. Sorry Genn, no text but largely visual IMHO. Tilehurst friendly version:D

Good morning everyone from quiet and calm start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north
The wonder wheel of a two egg omelette (cutting down, I know) followed by a chia, Greek yoghurt and winter berry pudding came home to roost at 5.4 this am

I think that I am on a “check out your father” rota. Daughter and family came over yesterday for tea and a chat - what’s going on? And now, today, invited to lunch, and being picked up - oh well, take advantage of the joy and I get to play ‘kitchens’ and do some drawing with the girl in the bubble. Very ‘umble Mr Copperfield I’m sure, Barkis is willing and all that. Which reminds me, wonder where my copy of A Christmas Carol is.
A stand of trees this morning, still trying to replace all the ones recently destroyed in Kielder Forrest. Have a smashing Monday if you can, now for a late koffy.

Who'd a thunk it? Drop the act, you are touched and love it. When they make you wear "that" bracelet is maybe the time to whinge. Mrs Miggins has got you taped. I've never met her but she is a superstar - you either have well hidden talents or some other asset not suitable for here. For goodness sake no pics please:angelic:

Non rendez-vous! Telephone s'il vous plait.
So much for the French government saying over 65s can get a jab on demand. We have been trying foe over a week to get appointments.

Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate it all although when I payed off all their mortgages I did say that they had to keep me alive for another 8 years to escape the tax man ;). Big job this morning, finding where the wrapping paper is hiding. Alternative plan is to just buy some more when I am in town for lunch. Swift call in at the lifeboat station to drop off a small jar of 5p pieces - it’s what they encourage.

Same issue in the UK - govt says one thing, local bureaucracy do something else. Our local social media page though is publishing walk in centre availability - it changes each day so I hope that the Boris booster rocket has enough trained jabbers to improve the flow.

Great idea having two for one - great effects by the way. I have done but one card and will send it electronically to all and sundry. That way, I don’t need to remortgage my house to pay for stamps.
Thank you @dunelm
I would do that too, but many of my older friends still have not embraced the digital age...and wouldn't know how to open a file. But those I can What'sApp, or other chat apps I use, then yes they will be getting a digital one for certain.

But I will use this for practising my trees. The one on the left was an oak tree, the one on the right was a willow tree, which when water sprayed can be completely obliterated into an effect, to work on further...

So, these cards are having a dual purpose in my practising...

A great set of trees @dunelm

Enjoy the 'check out your father' phase...

Ah, the 8 year itch:angelic: Wrapping paper? Buy the presents ready wrapped. Too risky with omicron but a personal shopper is the way to go. They go hunting with the lady and children, wrap their kills and make one tea in the meantime. Such a civilised way to deal with the issue. Nip off for a spot of lunch, collect the goods and home for tea. All one need do is sign and pay - what is all this fuss over Christmas shopping?

I had something which came by text yesterday, only I didn't see it because I had Do Not Disturb on to get some peace. I found it just now, I am in bed trying to get warm after food shopping. It tells me I am due for my 3rd Covid jab (I am assuming this is the booster jab). So I am trying to understand the complicated instructions. And it ends with if something then press one, if something else then press two...and so on.

My poor brain finally managed to work it out, and I pressed a number. The message came back with, "Sorry, you have run out of time, you only had 12 hours to respond."

Why not just self destruct the message...

So now I have to take the Covid vaccine appointment for Christmas Eve....
I am unable to change it.

Fbg 6.5

When I locked my gate last night, I noticed the Christmas flashing lights of Mr Insensitive Ignoramus had been extended at the far end of his bungalow which overlooks my bedroom. Oh no.
On my way to my bedroom to check if they penetrated into my bedroom, I was so close to ordering Number 8. But the cut vegetation I had put up last few days was still effective, and none of his flashing lights came into my bedroom. But I was cursing on my way to check...

Creative today.
Last night and into the early hours, I was painting these backgrounds for the Christmas cards. I was having fun. I had entered into a state of flow and I was having a great relaxing time doing these. I didn't want to stop. I photographed a selection, and I am cutting each of these double pages from my Sketchbook in half, so they will become postcard sized, and fit in a standard envelope which I shall also decorate..... I have done about 35 of these double sheets, so that means 70 possible Christmas cards.

These need to be flattened under a book now before I go on to the next stage, which will be a bit of a drawing, and some snow.

Then I will get my addresses out, and I will personalise the drawings for each person I am going to send these cards to. No idea what drawings I am going to do yet. I will wait for the flow to happen again...

So I used my sketchbook paper, different black pens that turn purple when water is sprayed on. And allowed the ink to spread...

Some are very obvious Christmas cards to me, some are not. But if these take too long before I can post them, then they become Happy New Year cards. The important thing is for me to enjoy the creativeness in doing each and every one of them, and for them to be personal to each recipient. In a much higher resolution, you can see a lot of detail in each one.

I have been told that my Christmas cards are collected, and treasured, and not used as shopping lists. Some people have said they have been framing them every year, and one person said that she was hanging them on her staircase wall...

I need a sleep now, and my hands need a wee bit of respite...

Take care
Have an amazing day
From me and >^..^< (he still feels as though he is around...)

Note: I don't know what is going on here on this site, but it is impossible to type this out in the reply box - it keeps freezing, crashing, jumping out of the site. I have had to go to a notepad app to write this (no problem writing this in the iPad notepad app, and okay writing replies etc elsewhere).

Morning everyone. Today I am either channeling Cher, being a guest at an Omicron party or being very Del Boy - you know it makes sense Rodney. Off to the gym for one of three booked sessions this week. Three jabs confers maybe 75% chance of decent protection even in that environment. Elsie's highest rating I have seen is <45%. Bookies have exercise shorter odds for longevity but the manager says play them together in midfield - one holding and one creative, along with supplements shielding the back four. Two Swipeys incoming (SMS said so as I type) but they are useless without that midfield combo functioning. I've sat on my whatsit for two years waiting for my country to wake up, Elsie to magically be functional and this place to become different. News flash, none of that is happening so to the gym it is. @gennepher those Christmas cards are such a caring and loving gift. I am so pleased for you that the process gives you so much pleasure and the recipients value the gift so highly. Christmas began here yesterday with hot chocolate - 500 mls almond milk, 30 gms double cream, Aldi LC cocoa and mucho liquid sucralose, plus four of these beauties (we have the mold) . These need further crisping (different mold) but may also be on the menu post gym. Do take care folks.

Good morning everyone from a contrails in the sky start here in the dark and dangerous north.
The wonder wheel of yet another two egg omelette came in at 5.1 this am

A good catch up with relatives yesterday and chauffeured there and back was a treat. Last three Christmas gifts for grandchildren sorted out, they should arrive today or tomorrow. Just got to sort out something special for Mrs Miggins, I fancy an iron cleaning kit. Wonder if I can get one to match the ironing board cover that I got her last year? Purchased a suede brush yesterday as was tasked to give her Ugg boots a clean while she was away. So that’s this mornings entertainment organised and then there will be another couple of boxes to delve into. Got a card from one of our neighbours, that’s nice. Mind you it was from the cheap side of the road - we have prime numbers on our side. How can you have a house number like 36 - so many combinations.
Art equipment still boxed up as is my folding art table - will just have to leave them be until after Christmas I think. So, more ink and water sketches - and anther tree. Hope that everyone has a terrific Tuesday. Time for more koffy here.
