What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Are you of the Oscar Wilde temperament: Able to resist everything but temptation.? I doubt you need daring.
I am usually the one who thinks of it first... @ianpspurs
I dare not reveal anything, all is a secret only known to me. I would be in deep doo dah if I said a single detail.
But should I put them in my memoirs, only to be published when I have departed this earth ...or shall I leave them forever a mystery....

Publish and be dammed.

It's exactly the same here and of course I won.
Am hoping to send cards this year as we won't be seeing family and friends in the UK. Didn't send last year as we thought we were going - so seasons greetings were to be delivered in person.

Good Afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen and those brave enough to wander outside in summer shorts.

Blood sugars this morning were 4.6, a hmmmm sort of reading, calculations were required then discarded, it seems tea bag reading in a Welsh mug is more a more reliable way to estimate my insulin dosage.

Yesterday’s telephonic hospital diabetic consultation went well, a new to me consultant gained my confidence by asking early into the consultation “ Are you still on Prednisolone ? “ The man had done is homework and knew the questions to ask and read my hospital notes. Next appointment is scheduled for 6 months time.
Now it will be interesting to see what transpires at Wednesdays GP’s diabetic follow.

Lots to read about on this thread this morning best wishes to all, hugs where required and possibly a large stone through the windscreen of those that selfishly park in disabled designated parking spots, I have a motorcyclist friend who’s wife is disabled and he doesn’t take kindly to those that abuse those very necessary spots. Not a man to cross. I fully support him.

A must say a well done to @jjraak for his continued progress. Keep up the good work.

Fbg 6.7

I forgot to mention yesterday that one Michael took my blood pressure, it was absolutely perfect. And I said to Michael are you sure you've done that right, because they always have to do it two or three times to get it lower, and considering the morning I have had trying to get to the surgery, I'm shocked it's nomal...

You Tube video on my nighttime TrailCam...
These two foxes were in the pouring rain mooching around, but looking out anxiously for that big black cat...

Creative is an autumn painting, working on some earlier saved versions of yesterday's painting, but it still ended up a dark painting. I'll start a new one for tomorrow.

You have your best day...

Cuppa needed now...

So I guess the one in the shadows is MINNIE ?

I'd always say write them down.

It's one heck of a story to tell I'd say.

I suggest Gina Davies for the younger you, In the movie to follow
And Susan sarandon or or Kathy bates for sheer tenacity for the more 'mature' you.

Tho' I do think sigourney as Ripley does epitomise your sheer 'Can Do' attitude to life.

(Sorry Genn, no captions, but it's Very few words that aren't on screen..just dramatic music & alarms going off all over the place as she risks all to rescue the child )

What he said. No idea who those people are and never heard of the fillum/tv prog but I'm sure he's right. Go for it but run it by us first just to test it out.

Genns frozen post had me noticing YouTube related video.

Now this one came up, with a lot of the usual & not so usual methods.

The hot tap water bag was one I hadn't seen or used before.
Min 13:45.
Nice and easy to do if you check weather/outside before leaving house

Worst case you empty water into drain or gutter.

Mr K is a hardy individual (like my postie yesterday, in sub zero temperatures doing his round in his summer shirts...aren't your knees cold I asked)...

Hopefully the vet can sort out Archie x
@gennepher we saw a lovely locum vet at our vets in Swaffham and she said that because Archie is so old his digestive system isn't coping very well after the stomach infection - which is why he is passing blood. I took a sample with me and she said that as there was more poo than blood we were not to worry.

So Archie now has a treatment plan - antibiotics, kaolin, Turkey and rice. He absolutely loves the turkey and rice.

We had a bit of a faff trying to find minced turkey. Tesco at Swaffham didn't have any so we drove back to Morrisons in our local market town. They didn't have any. Luckily we got 1kg in our local Tesco Superstore.

I agree that Mr K is a hardy individual. I couldn't believe he didn't feel the cold. We used to have a postie who wore shorts - even in sub zero temperatures.

Archie is ok and Mr K must have appreciated those knee length boots you bought him yesterday. They are his present from you surely?
Archie is now happily snoring on his bed in the conservatory. He already looks much better.
My boots are so lovely and warm. I wore them today. They are definitely my boots not Mr K 's :):):)

Winner for so kindly sharing your gradually developing art and the humorous way you glide over the obvious medical issues and the attendant side effects of that which is meant to be, if not a cure, at least managing the problem. Hope the Dr comes up with something better. My potions professor swears Boomslang skin and Billiwig sting will help me bowl 20 overs up hill into the wind again. Colour me skeptical, rub me in lard and beat me with a rolled up Racing Post on that one.
Thank you @ianpspurs and I will be sure to tell Dr if this fluxweed does not do the trick.

Looks top heavy now @dunelm , ready to tumble into the abyss...but I would love the view from one of those windows from an artist perspective and study the sky. You would not catch me on that walkway though, if I was on it I'd be crawling on hands and knees.
@gennepher I would be crawling on hands and knees also.

Yes she does @Annb She has already been caught by a traffic warden a few years ago. She was fined a hefty sum of money, and her hubby's badge taken off him for a period of time. He desperately needs that badge.

But she carries on doing it...
Sounds like a fine contender for a Darwin Award.

Well - poor Neil had to push me in my wheelchair something over a quarter of a mile from the nearest parking place he could find - uphill for the last part of the way. He was really panting by the time we got there. I felt so sorry to be inflicting it on him. It's not as if he's superfit himself.

Good to have someone who knows what they're doing working on my feet. Worth the £35 it cost. Feel fairly comfortable saying that after seeing the Winter Fuel Payment going into my account. That was only for the first appointment - every one after this will be £20.

I had a corn on the sole of my foot and was totally unaware of it. That's the first corn ever and I'm very disappointed in my feet - I've treated them well all these years and this is how they repay me! The thought was that neuropathy meant I couldn't feel it, but I certainly felt it when she cut it out, so the neuropathy can't be all that bad.

A win for the treatment.

A hug for Neil & a suggestion he deserves a treat from your culinary magic .. ;) :)

I have a friend with MS and is seriously disabled by it. She is a small, frail creature but very feisty. She tried complaining to the manager of a Stornoway supermarket about able bodied people in disabled spaces, but he didn't feel able to do anything about it. So she waited, in her wheelchair, until the driver came back and she challenged him, asking "would you like my legs and my chair to go with the parking space? They come as a set." She was a secondary school teacher in her time and not one to be accept cheek from any young man. With her voice and presence, she didn't need a healthy body to command respect. The young man didn't give an audible answer and just got into his car and drove away. What answer could he have given which wouldn't have made matters worse?
