What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good Morening Gentlemen and Ladies, this inverse impolite greeting is in aid ov levelling up. Personally me, me’s and myself prefer the traditional Ladies and Gentleman, but one or all 6 ov me must move with the times.

Blood sugars this morning were firstly 9.2 the a minute afterwards 7.8

Here in Tilehurst Towers the day has been planned, discussed and it was decided that I would do as I have been told. It’s nice to live in a democratic house.

Now I must go and find another hiding place……..

Well, I never went back to sleep.
3 boxes are awaiting transport to the potting shed, but I can't go out in the dark (as I could've done at one time) just yet as it is still dark and there are some large dog foxes out there at the moment.
The same happened last year about this time.
I just googled.

I have an interesting clip for tomorrow...
I need more boxes from the garage to put the rest of my postcards in....

I started postcrossing in late 2019. I knew lockdowns would be coming and I wanted a hobby that would keep me in touch with the world. I already had the stamps (I always bought an extra book of stamps, but usually with Xmas designs). Been doing this since 1970's.
Any of you remember, probably only women will remember as we didn't have checkbooks in this days but had to pay for postal orders and the charge that came with that, some firms would say in the adverts to send stamps to pay for the goods would be absolutely fine. I used to do that.

I didn't realise that, even in the 70's there were issues with cheques. As a young teenager I didn't have a bank account so had to use postal orders but when I married Tom he already had a bank account (he needed it so that his end of voyage pay off, which would be the majority of his wages for a 9 month voyage) and we converted it into a joint account so thereafter I could use cheques.

I made some shortbread for DIL to take to the staffroom at her school last weeked and was surprised when she came back with a gift from them of a box of Roses chocolates and a Friendship book. That was a lovely surprise and so kind of them. Chocolates were handed over to Em immediately to avoid temptation and I kept the Friendship book. Never really knew what such a book was but there are some very interesting and thoughtful quotes in it.

One man's farmers market is another woman's sofa as they say hereabouts. For one day only (for the moment) this is on point. @Krystyna23040 you really are the embodiment of perpetual motion.Is tomorrow your 59th street bridge song day? I'mma having more tea, doing a few steps and warming up for watching sport. However Carpe deim applies as you do you just don't try to squeeze too hard - you'll only strangle it..

BG at 0345 was 13.4! 2nd meal yesterday was quite late - maybe that was why.

Now down to the 7's, so no problem. Just had a phone call - I am needed to try to help supervise some children who are doing a clean-up in the park in Stornoway. Most of them are pretty good kids but they need some adults around to keep an eye on them. I will be picked up at about noon and will have to get my wheelchair into the car - it's a small car and I'm not sure the boot will take my wheelchair, but I can't manage the day without it. We shall see. I may not survive this, but I probably will. If I disappear from this thread, you'll know why. :happy:

Anything that will not be needed in the next month is going in cardboard boxes, carefully labelled, and going into potting shed. Fortunately I save cardboard boxes - unsellotape them and put them flat in the garage. So many uses for flat cardboard...

So, resellotape them up...

There is now a possibility I can get this place straight enough for when daughter arrives, and tables clear for us painting again...

But I badly need sleep now before I start again...

Creative - this is the drawing I did in the SketchClubApp of the castle yesterday. I kept the digital pen on the screen until I had finished, but the drawing was appalling. So I made the nib thicker and did another drawing on top of it. Still don't like it. I can't draw castles...this one does not have a distinctive enough shape fo me from the outside....the inside of it is another matter, I took daughter there drawing and painting last year, and we spent a few hours producing art work inside it...

Time for a nap....

And a cuppa

Perpetual motion is a really good description of how life is for me at the moment @ianpspurs . Sometimes I t think that I am getting too old for this - but I get such a buzz from what I do that I just can't give it up.

I was asleep.
Woke up at 1.30.
An hour later I gave up trying to sleep...
So I make a fresh flask of tea.
Did some sorting out and labelling.
Took blood glucose reading at 3.30.
Back in bed.

Creative - this was a quick line drawing from my car in the car park last week when I went for that meal. It was a very foggy day. The weather app had said 'light mist'!!!
As a line drawing it wasn't very successful in my eyes, and as I was still awake, I had a play with this sketch further in SketchClubApp this morning to create a bit of colour and a feeling of mist. I am quite pleased with the way this has turned out. There were two gaps in the hedge below the lamp which made me think of Narnia. It took about an hour!

See if I can get a bit of sleep before daylight...

Certainly a feeling of mist and I like the lamplight and the feeling that the world is peering back at the observer.
