What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good morning everyone on a decidedly damp start to the beginning of the month here in the dark and dangerous north. Today we are sailing down to Rio. Well, driving to Birmingham in the rain but that doesn’t sound much fun. I have already packed my best socks and matching cravat to blend in with the Black Country folk. Art bit, a bloke on a boat. Hope your day is not as damp as it is here. Best have koffy and get on.

Great art bit @dunelm
Cherry blossom time...

Take care on your drive...some flooding here, not a day to go out in...

You need a duck car...to cope with the flooded roads, but I wouldn't try it through a river...

What did I do right yesterday to get that reading, the lowest in awhile. Ah, no Easter treats....

Raining here. A paddling pool around my bungalow. I need a rubber dinghy to get the the swing and the SDcards in the Trail Cameras...

Wildlife nighttime video
Midnight's glowing eyes, and then the Badgers running through...
49secs

Creative is a sketch from my regular parking space, up the side road, where I can sit for a few minutes and sketch people crossing, when I have done my shopping. She was smoking an e-cigarette...

Today is April 1st. Cat Midnight came to me first in beginning of May 2022, as the scruffiest largest stray cat I had ever seen. His coat was all matted. By Christmas 2022 he was coming indoors and I had managed to cut all the matts out with a special matt cutter. But he took ill with a respiratory infection, and I nearly lost him. Vet thought his chances were slim, but gave antibiotics. It was touch & go, but he pulled through. Vet also said, he thought Midnight was at least 10 years old. When April 1st 2023 came round, I meant to make that Midnight's birthday and announce he was now 11 years old, but I totally forgot. But I have remembered this year. So It is Midnight's birthday today, his 12th birthday! No cake or treats for him, he is still a large cat! And he is still here with me! He is asleep on my lap now.

Midnight this morning at dawn.
Happy 12th birthday Midnight....

5.6 at 03:30 today. No breakfast yet - it's just cooking at the moment - but 2 cups of tea and BG is now 5.4. As often happens, I ended up with only one meal yesterday and just a slice of cheese later in the day. I expect that is why BG was low. Also, the last day or so, I have been eating only animal products and will try that for about a month to see what effect that has on BG and weight. Not sure that I will make it to a month because not sure what effect it will have on my digestion. My friend, who is inspiring me by her magnificent weight loss, to try this, has no problem with the diet, but as we all know, one size doesn't fit all.

Aww, nice to see Marley @jjraak
Midnight says Miaow!
Thanks x

Midnight is looking great - very different I imagine from when you first saw him, @gennepher. He's looking like a cat who had lived in a comfortable home all his life but, to have survived the way he did, he must be a very tough little cookie.
Thank you @Annb
He is not very little !!!
He is in good condition now.
He is a tough cookie. He prefers a peaceable solution to anything, but if necessary he will wallop the badger across his face if the badger shoves his nose at Midnight.

Morning all on the start of April -how's tricks? A sunny and dry morning in Little America. Happy birthday Midnight and thanks for sharing the sketch @gennepher. @dunelm thanks for sharing another splendid example of your artistic gifts. You spoil us sir and Ma'am. Do have a bostin time @dunelm. Cheesecake? We have made Elsie cheesecake with a flaxseed and inulin base (no recipe just intuition) which was fine for my bg and enjoyed by all the family but time has altered my tastes for granulated sweetener so I'm not sure how that will work. A meal at #3 son's yesterday. HC Bunatonne was a triumph daahling, a triumph no butter or cream needed (far less than 1/12 for me, JKP " gently persuaded" me not to weigh mine) and even leg of lamb was fair to middling which is the best that cut will ever be so big win there. Rather like A and E here for the last few days. JKP tripped last Thursday and has grazes and bruises such that she can only use one hand. She finds sleeping difficult anyhow so the elbow grazes don't help. I had an inner thigh muscle literally pop and have a massive bruise from groin to knee so step count is minimal. Amazon are bringing all sorts of protection and support but I can still make tea, do washing and basic housework, there is plenty of food from Saturday's buffet so thanks be to God. Enjoy Monday.

Thanks. JKP tripped at Addenbrookes - in front of Ambulances. Paramedics rushed to check her but being an "independent" lady she obviously declined any medical help both then and since. :banghead:
