What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

7.1 at 05.20 today.

Leg bandaging day today plus Neil has to take a whole lot of cardboard boxes to the recycling plant AND he has to go to the bank to try to sort out a problem with his bank card AND we need some shopping after a bit of a shopping problem yesterday, so we will be in town for quite a while.

Yesterday he tried to use his bank card to buy a tool to finish the job on the roof but got his PIN wrong and then couldn't remember the right one so he used my shopping cash, then when he went to the bank to replace it, he got his PIN wrong again and now his card won't work. Using my cash meant he didn't have enough left to do my shopping. If he can't sort it out today, I'll have to use my card or get cash to do the shopping. He knows my PIN by heart, but can't remember his own! He could just use mine but the bank isn't keen on that. He knows mine because I can't usually see the little machine screen or keypad so I have to ask Neil to do transactions for me.

On my internet banking with Lloyds I can view my card details on my phone including pin if needs be.

Luckily, by the time he got to the bank, he'd remembered his PIN. So all's well. Shopping done, recycling done, legs done plus an unexpected blood test. And it's still only 13.30. Another medical appointment in the post - for dietetics - still don't know who has referred me for that. Weighed myself this morning - nearly chickened out but forced myself. I've put on 6 kg since my 2 diuretic pills were changed for the one I am now taking. Supposedly I am protecting my kidneys, but it's not doing the rest of me much good.

I've been trying to find out about this "mitochondrial disease" that has been diagnosed. It looks as though most of my health problems are associated with it - diabetes, hyperparathyroiditis, lungs, heart, liver, kidneys, fluid, hypertension, eyesight, hearing. Possibly even the miscarriage I had in 1967 was associated with it as well. It seems, as mitchondria are replaced, some mutate and cause one or other of these problems. Mine have had a good few years to mutate, hence the number of issues I now seem to have. Nothing to be concerned about, until my heart decides it's had enough, but it can be very trying at times. At least some of it is beginning to make sense now.

My post made absolutely no sense with Airbus inserted. I think that predictive text most probably uses AI. It makes you think that all the talk about AI being a threat to humanity is totally baseless if it makes such a hash of things.

The trouble is, we are being forced to depend on AI and then there is no way through the mess it makes, because there are no humans, with human brains to work out what's gone wrong. AI won't admit that it is wrong. (I don't like technology when it gets beyond my understanding.)

I am having a few problems with AI technology at the moment, which is not working properly and is causing me grief. I am at the stage now where I'm thinking it's best to pull out of as much as possible because I have no way or power to deal with it when it goes wrong and it has gone bananas @Krystyna23040

I don't like technology when when it gets beyond my understanding either @Annb. I also hate it when it gets unnecessarily complex.

AI when it goes bananas is a nightmare @gennepher.

My kindle often uses AI when I search for something.
I searched recently for the date when I saw Simon and Garfunkle at the Marquee Club in London in the 1960s. AI said that they had never ever played there. Obviously completely untrue. Further searching revealed that it was September 1966.

t was an unforgettable evening - absolutely wonderful.

Had a lovely day yesterday. Did loads of admin in the morning.

Then in the afternoon we popped into our little market town as I needed a couple of things. It is good training for Bonnie. We went to the little dog friendly cafe. Bonnie was so good and just laid quietly down beside Mr K's chair. It was very noisy as there were several young children at one of the tables - but she just stayed calm and ignored them.

She was 5 months old on the 14th. - so not bad for such a young Labrador.

I am still sleeping a lot because of Tuesday at the hospital, i'm the amount of thinking I'm working out. I've had to do before the next appointment at the hospital while my mind is fresh of everything that happened. And I have an opticians appointment in Wales near me. And I realised I was gonna have to get a bit ready for him because I am a completely new patient. So I've had to collate a lot of stuff, when all I wanted to do was forget about it over for a few months. But it is time well spent, before I go in and it makes his job a lot easier for him. I am writing down what I need to from last Tuesday, and what I need from this new optician and explanation he can possibly give me over this so-called nerve ending, which the two Tuesday specialists were making a lot of and then they downplayed it when I ask questions.

Roll on next Wednesday when I can shelve all this for a few months, hopefully.

Creative... I have been taking loads of photos of my garden. It's full of spring flowers, mostly wildflowers. This beautiful intense display is often over almost before it's begun. And in previous years, I feel like I blinked and it's over. So this year, I'm trying to make the most of it.

Good afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen and those who took giant steps while walking on the moon.

Blood sugars this morning were firstly 3.5 and secondly 4.0, disaster darlings absolute disaster. To raise my blood sugars so I could take my insulin I had hot cross buns with jam. Then a shed load of my anti rejection medication.

After the above paragraph I went back to bed only to woken up by Mrs J when Mrs J returned from shopping saying “ you’re snoring and it’s time for lunch “
After lunch, one guess as to who sneaked off back bed? Again only to woken up again by a slightly miffed Mrs J who it appears has tasks for me complete.

Yes, I had the same thing with now well known bands playing at very small venues. My friends took me to all these places and although I couldn't hear the music I could hold the speakers and feel it. I know now that would've given me the rhythm of music, but I would not have understood that concept then.
When I tried googling to check where I had seen them, Google said they had never played in this country or they had never played in x y or Z and I know when they played because the time scale is firmly fixed in my head @Krystyna23040

I think that we were so lucky being teenagers in the 1960s @gennepher.
Good that you could hold the speakers and feel the music.
We are so lucky to have those memories - even if AI and Google are convinced that they never happened.

Creative...a kaleidoscope of the crab apple tree blossom of yesterday

6.9 this morning.

A really good day yesterday. Updated the last of my 1:1 clients lesson plans and have emailed them all to them. I had got a bit behind as Bonnie does take up more time than Poppy and Archie used to as they just used to chill out - whereas Bonnie is of course much more up to mischief.

We had a lovely walk around the fen which is a short walk down the road from us. It looks so lovely in the spring sunshine.
