Good morning everyone on another splendid day to be alive and never mind the chill.
5.8 this a.m.
I must remind myself to look in The Ladybird Book of DIY for 5 to 7 year olds as a hole has been ordered and an X marks the spot drawn. I wonder which drill it will be. The old electric one that you plug in, the nice light one with rechargeable batteries or the half horse power impact drill? It’s only for threading a flex through a bit of wood - impact drill it is then.
Art bit - can I paint rain - no I can’t. More practice needed.
Hope your day is buzzing along nicely. Best I get that drill out and make some sawdust.

I have not found caffeine an issue although I only have tea twice a day , a cafetière of koffy in the morning and perhaps another koffy if out for lunch - and only green tea with fresh ginger and lemon in after lunch. I follow the practice of Chinese people with green tea and just keep refilling the pot with hot water as the day progresses. That gives progressively weaker tea as the day moves on (and less caffeine from the tea leaves).

What a good idea!

I used to do the same with jasmine tea when I worked in an office, it was so much easier to make a pot twice a day than keep going to the kitchen to make a mug

Edit to add FBG (d'oh):

9.2

Completely flummoxed as I had a salt & vinegar crisp blowout again at 1am (I had cramp and salted pork rinds won't do the trick. Wish I could find s&v ones) yet results same as usual.

Fantastic news. So pleased for you
Thank you@SlimLizzy. One less issue to face. Still a few issues to be sorted but grateful that one is out of the way. Best wishes :)

A very long day. It was unbelievably hot while I was out.

I had gone to go out with lunch with my friend, but as soon as I got a text came through, she cancelled because of some kind of emergency, but she did not say what....
I could've done with not going out at all today.

I've got home finally, and I've been asleep all afternoon. I was so so tired. But when I try to back in my driveway, the red alert alarm went off. It went off about halfway into the driveway. And the driveway was clear. I tried a few times. Finally, I got out the car and went to the back of the car to look. And there is one of the stray cats completely stretched out between the two back wheels. It was lying stretched completely out in full sun...
Oh my God, I've run over the ginger cat I thought...
It lifts its his head and it blinks at me. Then it gets up and walks to my kitchen door.. .BLOODY CAT I yell at it. It seems like it has fallen asleep amongst the dried grass on my driveway and with it being ginger, you couldn't see the cat..... unless, there is a possibility it has had a heat stroke and was just lying there, until it recovered...

I gave the cat some wet food and fresh water.

I went to the front room and went sleep on the couch for the afternoon .... not one ounce of stamina left in me.

Creative is a kaleidoscope from one of my paintings... but I could not get from it what I wanted so this is it.

Night night

Sweet dreams

I will play catch up tomorrow...

FBG a mystery. No longer habitually taking it, forgot until no longer fasting. Oops.
I had hoped for a better result because I have now managed two whole days of sensible eating. Not exactly LC, but not excessive carbs, sugar or alcohol either.
However that is unlikely to continue today, am obliged to attend a coffee and cake event for charity this morning, and friends have invited us to a bbq this evening. In between am visiting another friend, who carefully makes me reduced sugar cakes. Last week a pecan pie where she had substituted maple syrup for some of sugar.
Poured with rain.yesterday. Good for the garden I hear you cry. Indeed and with advice from the man who can help out two days a week - turns out to be a horticulturist, am soaking grass seed in ladies tights.
Must get on with the.day

Good morning everyone on a splendid start to bin day although I fear that the sunshine early this morning may not last the day.
5.6 this a.m.
Today we have an appointment to visit the tip! Post Covid it’s all by appointment - a bit like Tiptree orange marmalade but with extra aroma. It’s on the route to the nearby town of Gusibrorough (pronounced Gizbro of course to confuse tourists, especially those who rely on a Websters dictionary). So, Guisborough for lunch.
Art bit - rain practice two (@gennepher you are too kind).
Hope your day goes well. “I don’t complain about the lack of time … what little I have will go far enough”. Seneca. So, best finish this koffy and get on.

Good morning all on the morning after the continuation of Big Ange's record . Yes, @dogslife I am/was very pleased and if I'm honest very surprised. There will be some sore heads in Bilbao and elsewhere. @dunelm enjoy Guisborough and thank you for sharing the art. @gennepher sorry to hear you were so tired. You would certainly not be too hot here where it is 2879000 layers weather. Y'all have a good day - perhaps not as good as Angelos'.

That definitely is a rainstorm. Just like we see them here, although not so much recently. I think the Islands are getting drier as the years go by. I'll probably regret saying that by next week.

6.9 at 04.15 today. Been up and down a bit since then, but not too bad.

It was legs day today so Neil left me at the Health Centre and went off to do the shopping. The Co-op is still fairly empty and even the more exotic things (like the tinned black beans I wanted) are all sold out - presumably because tinned baked beans are not to be found anywhere. Then he found that none of the local suppliers had the piece of wood he was looking for. At least his new glasses were less expensive than he had anticipated, so that's a plus point.

It wasn't particularly hot when we went out, but it was by the time we got home and it was very bright. The sun was burning any bits it could reach through the windscreen and side windows. Still, rain and cooler weather are forecast - just as well, the plants could do with some water.

Alistair was telling me that he was held up yesterday at the end of his delivery because outside the last house he had to go to, a couple were walking 2 dogs, one of indeterminate breed, the other a chihuahua. As he walked by the chihuahua tried to reach him, but he didn't stop to pet it - that is now forbidden. Nevertheless, the dog seemed determined and, as Alistair walked away to his van, somehow it slipped its lead and ran into the road, right into the path of a car. It was killed instantly. There was much screaming and crying and, as a result, the driver of the car did not move his vehicle, blocking the road completely. Hence Alistair was late - not that he minded that. He was just concerned that it wouldn't have happened if he had just stopped to pet the dog and ignored the regulation. He's feeling a bit guilty at the moment but I reminded him that it was the responsibility of the dog owners to keep it under control and if they had, it wouldn't have happened. Sad. :sorry:
