What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

There is lavender, mint (including peppermint, spearmint, and catnip), rosemary, lemongrass, marigolds, nasturtiums, lemon balm, and bay tree leaves (I have a huge bay tree growing so I can take as many leaves as I want off that and just crush them and spread them around).

I bought a lemon balm a few years ago and I've taken loads of cuttings and had that all over the garden... near the house and windows. I have rosemary, but that's been growing years. I do take cuttings off that as well.

Cheapest quickest option is mint. If you have some at the garden centre by maybe a dozen plants or a couple of dozen. Plant them and they will grow very quickly, they love my soil, they grow even when neglected but a bit of water in the first place will help them grow faster and then you can take cuttings from then sooner. I just take a few stems pop in the jar and water in a week or so later I can plant a bunch of mint.. I have them surrounding the bungalow... my primary reason for this was for Roland and his friends to keep them away, and also Minnie mouse and her friends.... but they keep flies away as well. I only bought this quantity of mint from the garden centre a couple of months ago... I bought 10 plants from one garden centre, and then when I found some more week later, another 15, because I wanted an instant mint hedge around the bungalow. They were different varieties of mint among this. Some are more heavily scented than others and I cannot tell you which ones because I didn't think about it at the time. But needless to say, I've been taking cuttings of the heavily scented ones and I've got even more growing.

I hope I've given you some ideas @Annb
You have, Gennepher. Lots of mint sounds like a good option. I love the smell of mint even though I don't like the taste. I do have small mint plant (spearmint, I think) but it doesn't grow very well. Perhaps I should repot it and see if that helps. I did plant some in the herb patch I was trying to create in front of the house, but it didn't survive. In fact, none of the herbs did. I'll try again.

Where did this morning go? Good afternoon, @alf_Josiah.

Breezy and bright, but not sunny, here. Really glad we don't have the very high temperatures everyone in the south seems to be suffering.

FBG 9.8 but 10.7 once I got through to the kitchen at 04.45 today. Down again after basal insulin and again after bolus and breakfast. We're in the 7's (me and my BG) now. Wonder if that will last.

My e-mail (Thunderbird) seems to have stopped working and the only way I can get into this site is by going through the website (more complicated). Neil is asleep, so I'll have to wait for him to wake up and see if he can fix it.

MrSlim is now working on the back hall - after the paint for the kitchen,( chosen months ago) turned out to be the wrong shade of blue. Its tending more towards turquoise and needs to be more like sky blue. The green however is fine. MrSlim wants me to decide on colours for the newly installed panelling and the doors.
Ummm? And the buffet that will be in there needs painting in ??? Colour?

Oops forgot to post

3.6 at 03.00 today.

Difficult night because I couldn't actually get onto my bed on my right side. Had to just edge in on my left side. Usually, I get onto the bed on my right side and sleep that way for a couple of hours, then have to get up and then back into bed on my left, for another hour or so before it gets too painful to stay there, then it's up and into the big chair in the kitchen. 2 hours on my left side was enough last night before it was too sore. Still couldn't get onto my right side. So it was up and sit in the chair. Fell asleep under the influence of painkillers until 07.20 by which time I was in agony and unable to move. Difficult. Just had to force my limbs to move eventually (Hobson's choice - stay there in pain or have more pain, with the promise of easing it with movement). It's not usually that bad, for which I am extremely grateful. Not too bad now, so all's well.

Going out later, which might be a mistake leading to more pain tomorrow. Must resist the urge to say I won't go because it's good for me mentally.

Good morning everyone. Other than channelling my inner Stevie wonder, I just wanted to wish @Lamont D and Mrs L all the very best for today. @lamontd no need to respond as we all know this is a difficult time
I just called to say......

As...

Manic Monday. No that was .......?
Can't remember.

Everyone turned up and hopefully, there should be respite for Mrs L.
Only have to sign away my life again........ Not really......

And await dceision.

For some reason couldn't watch the cricket.

Am really mentally tired.
Kitchen duties calling.

All my best wishes.
My Cherie Amour.

Just a minor slip up after five days of sensible eating. The most consequetive days managed for months. Ate nearly a whole packet of biscuits last night. In my defence, the packet was already open - and the biscuits inside really small. The whole packet would have been 67g of carbs!

Monday is coffee morning day, had all the messages about location on Sunday evening, then Monday morning MrSlim is dressed before me, ready to go and buy the right colour paint, so hasty wash and dress and off we go. At the store can't agree on which colour, so buy some other things also on the list and are en route to collect some stuff from a friend when I get message about coffee group!
I'm supposed to be there already !! MrSlim very graciously abandons his plans and drives me 25 mins to coffee morning, which due to late arrival of two members overuns considerably, leaving him hanging about waiting for me. Without grumbling.
Off again to pick up stuff, then home, paint purchase abandoned until Thursday. MrSlim inserts the newly purchased glass into the frames and we spend a considerable amount of time applying decorative film. The rèsult is very pleasing. After that i second coat the coat hooks started yesterday and he does some more work in the back hall. Later, after visit to local supermarket there is pizza van, bought one. Pizza and salad for dinner. Not a very good pizza, base isn't crisp and dripping with oil from the chorizo topping. Plus two euros more.
Up early - not possible to catch up with jobs left undone yesterday, but can make a start on them at least.
So out into the garden to plant cucumbers
and beans now. After that another exciting day home renovating...
