What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

BG this morning was 6.2. Been eating more than is good for me or so I thought all morning and afternoon. My BG now is only 7.2 which is a complete enigma.

The only plausible conclusion i can draw is that it is not how much you eat but what you eat that raises your BG. Very annoying when all the food that I really enjoy is the stuff that sends my BG through the roof.

My diabetic nurse told me I could eat anything yummy like cakes and pastries, but only take one tiny bite. I told her that one bite is not enough so it is best not to eat at all, so now I refrain my any that is bad for my blood sugar.

4.0 this morning. ..just back from appointment with consultant. ...hbaic 5.5%...(37)...running it a bit too tight he said...! oh well......
Out of interest, do you drive? I sometime worry a little if I go below 5, because it means I can't go somewhere (such as the office) on the spur (at least I was told that's the floor for driving in the UK).

That said, I do prefer to keep as good control as I can (below 6). Since being diagnosed in November, I've got my HbA1C from 152 down to 40.

5.7 this morning.

And I finally found out what's making youngest dog itch frantically at intervals. We'd got rid of the problem completely and then yesterday off the dogs went to the groomer. She does the biz and since then youngest dog has been scrabbling desperately at herself. I found out because she sleeps tucked in behind my knees, so if she spends the night awake and scratching I know all about it... Shame that Tuesdays is always my longest working (and most complex) day of the week and that I feel like my brains got emptied out and replaced with cotton wool overnight. The pretty pink fluffy sort that's useless as cotton wool but looks OK.

But husband is going to bathe the dog today with her special soothey shampoo so fingers crossed, tonight will be a good night's sleep.
