What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

You are a hard taskmaster to yourself @ianpspurs, your numbers always look great to me.

Nothing more anyone can say. Keep trying to smile x

Good morning all 6.0 this morning - fab meeting yesterday with area Diabetes specialist I’m beating up up on myself but the meeting yesterday with my specialist , my usual Diabetes nurse and a training one. Really cheered me up! lots of good girl points
my Hba1c has reduced by 50 %. I want to lose weight, I’ve done my research, lots of it, I went armed with medical papers and research documents. I’m going with intermittent fasting. 18:6 or 16:8 and 5:2 or 4:3 but my version.

@dogslife You are understandably stressed. My lovely daughter in law is in the same position, worrying about her father, and is very distressed at the moment. You must remember to take care of yourself, its a big strain on the carer.Just to say that you are in my thoughts.

@ziggy_w glad you've found something that works for you,my husband is retiring in July and we intend going back to walking with a group we used to walk with so hopefully I should be able to control mine too? , K

Good luck at hospital and what a lovely hubby you have ! K

Thanks, @Granny_grump_ When I am feeling well, I often do a whole hour on the elliptical trainer -- but with this cold, I simply don't have the energy. I find that with exercise, my blood sugars are usually in the upper 4s in the morning, without in the low to mid 5s -- so, definitely a noticeable impact.

Walking with a group, as you and your husband do, should definitely be a lot more fun. Where do you usually do your walking?

@DJC3 probably very true but I am much better now! My wife would tell you how unlivable I was when I took cricket seriously and got out - I was an opening batsman and could not bear getting out. Also, I see even lower numbers on here and it reawakens my competitive edge now I don't do serious team sport anymore.
Thanks for the encouragement and reminder to do a little more as I say not as I do.

Thank you, isn’t it funny I have a figure in mind ... so I’m beating up on myself.
@Goacher55 Oh yeah, seen that movie before (may have starred in it as well but don't tell anyone)

Edit: And everyone else says don't be so hard on yourself - except that little voice inside says nope, no surrender! So I guess it is absolutely no use me saying don't be so hard on yourself?

Nice one!

@ziggy_w We started out walking woodland paths near where we live then canal pathways which took us out for 2 hours and more, hill walking and fell walking and Nordic walking followed on where we would be out most of the day. It made us very fit but then I got cateract in both eyes and had to stop walking,it took nearly 3 years to get my vision good enough to drive to anywhere which technically ended my walking. No motivation since to start again but when my husband retires we thought how we enjoyed it all so we are going to give it another try.! Totally agree exercise is great especially if you enjoy what your doing.K

Thank you Glenmac. It helps to know that someone understands. Please give your daughter in law my supportive wishes. It is indeed a very distressing time especially when you are the only carer and all you want to do is make life better for your loved one but whatever you do is not enough as the situation is beyond your control. Thanks again.
