What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

good morning all

4.3 today

Happy Easter everyone , just got my hot cross bun bread and butter pudding ready to go in the oven (for the visitors, not for me) and my latest LC pud is sort of hot cross bun flavoured with lemon and cranberries and mixed spice, so it at lest smells very similar, We shall have double cream with them. I usually have greek yoghurt but it's Easter so

Getting the scent of the lemon and spice has reminded me of the yorkshire curd tart which I used to bake, might try doing a crustless low carb one of those next.

Hello all. Thank you so much for all your kind wishes, @ianpspurs, @karen8967 and @DJC3. Blood sugars are slowly inching down. This morning they were 5.6.

@Freema -- Wonderful to see that your fasting blood sugars are in the 5s today.
@Granny_grump_ -- How is the healing of your leg coming along?

Happy Easter holidays, everyone.

Hi@ziggy_w Lovely to here your on your way to recovering and your BG is on its way down,if I had your BG readings I'd be happy Has Larry! but we all have a level we are happiest with don't we, thanks for asking about my leg it's doing very well just a small tiny area that's still to heal but it's nothing that won't be long before it's totally healed soon. I go on Tuesday for more dressings changed and I will ask about the skin graft it's difficult to see when they change the dressings and I was wondering if the whole graft has taken except where the infection is,won't do any harm in asking? Take care of yourself and you'll soon be up and about again, lovely to here from you! K

My degree is in mathematical sciences. I really loved it.
Ditto. Down in Portsmouth a very long time ago, when the computer covered the whole of the first floor of the Maths building. And we used dot matrix printers. And had to wait for hours for the programme to be compiled.

Although, after I graduated I then went to work in the NHS where they were still using punch card machines for some tasks - I couldn’t believe my eyes!

Lots of fun stories from back then [sorry for going off topic, but I did enjoy my Maths Science degree in good old Pompey]. It is nice to meet another Maths Sci person. My best memory was wondering what this ‘new’ course of ‘Combinatorics’ was going going to be about in year 2. Such a lovely word for a fascinating subject.

Well, to get back on topic; mine was 10.0 and has been showing a marked rise since I stopped medication in January. It used to run around the 6.0 level but last few readings have been - 10.0, 8.7, 8.7, 8.2, 10.9, 9.1.
I've an HbA1c test later this month, but am not looking forward to the results as I'm fairly certain my GP will suggest going back to some form of medication.

Hey maybe it is better to be medicated then , the most damage happens when average being over 7.5 mmol , no medication isn´t always the best choice anyways.. <3 good luck with it all

7.7 today, Freema I learned something from you - I was hoping to ask my nurse in a few days if I can come off the meds, as my readings are consistently going down- but not reached a consistent normal yet. But I was very interested in the 7.5 damage bit. This inspires me to exercise more today. I have gone from average 12’s to average 7’s in about 6 weeks.(but 4 weeks of testing) For anybody including you Miahara, after you have reversed and got off meds, how often do u test please?
