What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Changed profile name
Hello
Just a note to say I've changed my profile name to rhubarb73.
This is because I want to follow advice from some of you and be more open with people about my condition in the real world so am giving myself more anonymity here.
I'm still the same angry goldfish out of water on my profile picture so hopefully you know who I am
All the best
C
I'm thinking of changing my user name to something less boring. How did you go about it if you don't mind me asking was it an easy process or did you have to jump through hoops to get it done.

Hi - I just sent an email via the “contact us” section. Took a couple of days.
Cheers C.

I'm glad I'm not the only person on here who eats a whole tub of OPPO in one go! Have you tried the Chocolate with Hazelnut OPPO? I've got several tubs in the freezer, which I have to replenish every week. It's addictive! :)
Hi prem51 sounds delish where do you get it?

I have tried the chocolate/hazelnut variety but I'm not a fan of that one. One of those little salted caramel tubs once in a while just hits the spot! :)

Morning all 5.1 @ 4.50 on a Sunday morning. My body seems to want to take me on a magical mystery tour of places i don't want to visit. The scales have gone back 6 months in 4 days, average sleep hours around 2 hrs lower than trend and bg and resting pulse well up. Clearly sending me a message and I thought I was being nice to it. Has done this before but I don't appreciate its sense of humour "to take it again perforce! monster ingratitude" Hope you all have good days - I fear mine may seem rather long!

I have been a very safe eater for about 6 months @flexi06. Eggs cheese ham or kippers for breakfast/brunch and meat n veg or salad for dinner. But over the last month now that I'm classed as in remission and mysugr confirms this with the daily readings input I've felt more confident to try new foods. When I try anything new I test as follows: before I take first bite then every 30 minutes for 3 hours. I've learned from past tests that it can go back up after 2 hours from hidden carbs so that's why I do 3 hours. Im also in the process of swapping to a codefree meter as the strips are so much cheaper (discount code available too) and it will work out stacks cheaper for me. Hope this helps.

Thank you @Debandez - yes it helped. I also eat pretty “safely “ apart from occasional treats. This method seems like a good idea for new stuff introduced. Thanks for the details. X

Good Morning all. I'm feeling a little 'detached' after all the events, emotions and outcomes of my mother's funeral yeterday, but also a little relieved that it all went as she'd have wished. I didn't eat at the 'do' afterwards as (a) the food was mainly high carb, and (b) I had absolutely no appetite. All I had was a coffee that was shoved in front of me. But I did have a fairly large mixed salad at about 6.30pm. At bedtime my level was 5.3 (low for me at that time) and this morning I did two tests as the first was 4.7 ... never had a 4 before, and the follow up one was 5 ... so I went by that one, and was pleased at being down to exactly 5
Hope you all have a lovely weekend

My thoughts are with u Mal, it’s a very difficult time.

Well good morning- and what a beautiful one it is! Dead in 6.0 for me today. Going back down after a change to higher dose hrt and lower dose blood pressure med. done 7,900 steps so I can flake out and eat breakfast now. Back to work tomorrow (groan)
@flexi06 That is a good start to the day and wise to get steps in before the heat. You seem to be very busy around these threads today - a hyperactive little ray of sunshine:angelic:
