What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Morning all and looks like being a hot one then getting even hotter next 2 weeks. Not posting numbers as still chewing the cud over what testing tells me. Waters really muddied now as from July 2015 to latest Hba1c averages exactly the same but last Hba1c was 4 higher than home testing would suggest. It seems to be a good long term tool but unreliable short term. Posted this in case it helped other people if they ever have doubts re differences between the 2 sets of numbers.

6.9 this morning. A touch on the high side but it was 5.9 at bedtime so just my fatty liver using up some cheese I think.
I’ve been testing at least 6x per day for nearly a week now and my daily average has been bang on 6.3 for 5 out of 6 days. I’m cool with that- early days and inside target.
I dug out my annual medical results last night. 10 years pre diagnosis (the last time I was sub 90kg) my resting mmol was 5.2 - seems like a useful target to aim for.
Lots on my mind today. Have a great day folks.

5.9 this morning. I'm happy to be under six as I've been reassessing how much food to eat as my numbers have been creeping up over the the winter months. I always eat very low carb but maybe I'm eating just a smidge more than I should. Maybe its just my excuse but Its kinda tough as I'm tall and skinny . The sunshine and the real heat of the sun makes it all so much easier though..... Hopefully the forecasters are right and we get a "real" summer. - Enjoy it if you possible can

Good Morning all. I'm feeling a little 'detached' after all the events, emotions and outcomes of my mother's funeral yeterday, but also a little relieved that it all went as she'd have wished. I didn't eat at the 'do' afterwards as (a) the food was mainly high carb, and (b) I had absolutely no appetite. All I had was a coffee that was shoved in front of me. But I did have a fairly large mixed salad at about 6.30pm. At bedtime my level was 5.3 (low for me at that time) and this morning I did two tests as the first was 4.7 ... never had a 4 before, and the follow up one was 5 ... so I went by that one, and was pleased at being down to exactly 5
Hope you all have a lovely weekend

It's a difficult time, hope you are ok.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and nobody else, so tough on you.
Ps I don't include those lying, expense fiddling, cheating politicians as Ladies and Gentlemen.

A delicate 5.9 for me this morning.

Well folks do I do some woodwork, I'm making a wooden tank for my grandchildren or set it aside till Monday and continue in the garden ? Gardening will not involve the use of noisy machinery.

Yes, losing your mum is totally different from all other losses in life I find. I had been her main carer for a number of years and had to fit my life around her, so of course that produces an added emptiness. I hope to overcome that in time. Thank you for your thoughful reply.

The time immediately after the funeral can be really hard - beforehand you have lots to do and focus your energy on, with all the arrangements, and then its all over and you feel empty and alone. Things will get better though, hang in there.
Glad your bg levels were so good and didn’t add to your worries.
