My pharmacist told not to take Ibuprofen because it can raise blood glucose (I has asked if it was OK).
Good morning all. Blood sugars still a bit wonky from the cold. They went up to 7.1 half an hour after taking an ibuprofen yesterday -- up by 1 mmol. Does ibuprofen raise blood sugars? Have any of you experienced something similar?
Woke up this morning to 5.3 this morning, so better than yesterday. Hope this means I am on the mend.
Take care everybody. Have a wonderful day.
I feel your pain, had 4 days of lows dropping from 6.8 to 2.4 in less than 20 mins, turned pump off, still dropped, I ran basal test yesterday nothing to eat from 5pm until 1pm today and everything was fine, reduced insulin to carb ratio which was a little better , maybe it's the rise in temperature due to a few summer days lol . Take care you are not alone lol4 greeted me this morning, I have been suffering from cluster hypos at the moment, usually 4 one after another and reading's aren't getting above 4. Turned my pump down a lot and running temp basal. My care teams advice???? Sometimes Diabetes does what it wants, like now!! Ahhhh well enforced sofa laying about as I feel terrible hopefully it won't last too much longer as I've had enough.
Take care everyone
Goodnight Karen and everyone xGoodnight everyone sleep well
5.2 today. Presentation yesterday went really well. I was thrilled. Massive thanks to @xfieldok for her support and sharing her journey (and homemade cheesy nibbles!!! Delish).
I think 2 hours is defo too long though. One poor newbie was struggling. She looked uncomfy but really wanted to be there. Strangulated hernia and other issues too!!! I gave her a lift home and a bit of a pep talk . she is going through the mill. Another new face that came via a Facebook post. It works. And a few from my Tesco monthly meet up group who wanted to hear about my journey. Adam the comms from my surgery. My hubby who came in his lunch hour . We fit perfectly around the training room table. I told everyone this was my first session and welcomed interaction. That was good. It was very informal. Most just sat and listened. My journey followed by Paul who does pt to pt re depression, anxiety and mindfulness. Then @xfieldok journey . I feel everyone got something out if it. I dont think that format would be good for every session. You would only be able to get newbies. I've had a rethink today. I would like to do something in the community like sw or ww. Carb counters. But it's way too much of a commitment. So was feeling a bit at a loss. Until I received an email from my surgery, and the PR team. My GP PM would like another date from me. Talking to the ccg about us having a dedicated room for pt to pt but emphasised it's just talks. I thought 'YES ' that's what I would love to do. 1 session a month at my surgery. But not just for diabetics. Not enough interest I feel. At the mo when the advise is take these pills and eat everything you like. but incorporating weight loss with low carb. So I'm buzzing. PR team want to go to local paper re session and want quotes from PM. Blackpool n fylde needs all the help it can get!!! Also a pt who couldn't make it wants to get in touch. Wants to try low carb! I'm making up a pack for them and dropping off at the surgery tomorrow .
Yes keto and low carb is seeing brilliant results. All info free online! No weekly commitment. It certainly feels like its building momentum. Just need nhs guidelines to fall in line!ouch, that sounds painful for that lady...and recently dx T2D
liking the responses though AND the offer of a room and regular monthly sessions...way to go, @Debandez ..
not forgetting you @xfieldok
What with the news about WW, and our Debs..the future for the next wave of type 2's is looking rosier by the minute..
Really pleased 5.5 in range now thank goodness.
