This is fine keep it there and maybe not take your metformin as long as you are strict, metformin does not cause dangerously low hypos but there is no need for metformin when you are that low 4.3 is not dangerous , under 4 is unpleasant to many
Take care6.8 I’m hoping this interminable cough abd cold is going away, it’s annoying my blood sugar readings !
From everything I've read no, or at least , very very very very unlikely is the answer. ...When I first started low carbing and realised how I could drastically affect my sugar levels downward I took it to a stage where I fasted and did heavy work outs all day just to see how low I could go. I got to 3.8 . Only did it once -just to experience it . I am not on any medication and if you are this most likely will be different .Hi everyone, I've been T2 for 18 months now and not particularly well controlled due to huge stresses and comfort eating. Decided to get a grip and went keto on Sunday, as I've moved house a fortnight ago and am struggling to find time to get registered with my new doc and all the rigmarole required (teacher here).
Having just 2 weeks of metformin left and 4 weeks to school holidays I've been amazed how fast my bg has dropped. By tues I had readings 5.5 /5.3 all day, but these are still dropping. Last night both before and 2 hrs after food I got 4.3(!!!) and so I didnt take any metformin. Now my concern is is that too low? I didn't feel great, but I know in the first couple of weeks keto I might not.
Any advice? Am I at risk of hypo on low carb?
Have you ever suffered from Armpit Surprise?
Direction of travel is good, the train station of wonderment beckons.Hi there folks. Got my HbA1c results today. 56 mmo/mol which is better than last year's 61, which was an improvement on 92 three months' beforehand. Cholesterol down to 5.0, weight down but blood pressure up, well above 140/90. Will start monitoring that as well as BG.
This diabetes condition is definitely a long game. 4 weeks of being "good" (LCHF) haven't moved the metrics that much. Guess I need to focus on 4 months, then 4 years.
