I was extremely tired, could have fell asleep on a clothes line, and for the first time ever I felt like my head was full of cotton wool. The night time was the worst as I was worried about ketones and such, but then around midnight, down went my readings! It's definitely been a strange one, last three weeks its been low all the time then this, just goes to show you how complex and sometimes unpredictable diabetes is, if it can stump Consultants what chance do we have. Well apart from living it, I get my new pump on Monday so will be having a conversation with my Nurse to ask what's actually happening as "Well sometimes Diabetes does as it wants" isn't really the best answer.Blimey! What a wierd day - did you feel ok at 28.9? I’m glad you fbg is ok today.
Thanks PM...some progress I suppose in that I can at least cough now...as the morning progresses I am slowly regaining some of my senses...more coffee & a little more breakfast needed...a brilliant sunny day here...I wont be venturing out...another day of indulging myself with good food & rubbish TV...enjoy your weekend.that sounds rotten. Hope you turn the corner today. Hugs from afar!
Ball of confusion today - must be catching @geefull , @johnpol and @HarrisonK . 2 days of combined 3 meals, 35 gms carbs and just over 2000 cals deficit produced 1kg weight rise, 1 beat rise in resting hr and a mahoosive 6.5 fbg. Either 3 devices not working or 1 body really feeling maltreated. How much of a gambler should I be - everything looks wonderful analysed on Cronometer but life is played out somewhere other than on an App. Oh, sleep hrs and waking up time love these 2 days - really does feel like whack a mole. Enjoy your day.
What's that you said Mick? Yes. I'll keep holding on mate
I know exactly what you mean, DJC3. We always keep our cars for years but look after them well. We once owned an 8 seater Toyota Previa for about 17 years that took our family all over the place including France and was full of happy memories. My husband thought I was a bit crazy when I cleaned it thoroughly before it went to the scrapyard in the sky but as I cleaned I was reliving all those memories including the people who sat in each seat (some family no longer with us), the songs we sang, the laughter etc. It was very cathartic. The end of an era.5.4 for me this morning.
Hugs to you @geefull and the anxiety I hope you have a better day today.
@True Blue well done, I wouldn’t worry about your fbg at the moment, the way I see it, your liver has been busy dealing with the booze so hasn’t had time for it’s other work - it’s just catching up and it’ll settle down soon.
@dogslife sorry to hear about your trusty Yaris, it’s surprisingly emotional isn’t it when a car you’ve had for so long comes to the end of its life? I couldn’t watch when our trusty old Volvo estate was towed off our drive eventually. It had transported our family, 3 kids and a large dog all over the place, lots of camping holidays to France etc it was a real friendly workhorse. I was quite surprised at the strength of my attatchment to it.
Thank you! I have the insulin to thank for itHello all. Busy day yesterday, so didn't get to post. Fasting blood sugars were 4.5 yesterday and 4.4 today.
Also gave my GP a call yesterday morning and asked to pick up my blood test results. Was so happy to see HbA1c in the 20s (actual result was 29) for the first time since low carbing. Also, liver test was fine, no change from the time when I only had one glass of wine a week. So, lots of reason to celebrate, which we did last night.
@DJC3, @PenguinMum, and @dogslife -- Thanks so very much for your kind words. Definitely felt like a pin cushion after this morning -- might half gone through close to half a container of test strips in half a day. In the evening, blood sugars had returned to stability.
@SB.25 -- Wow, what a huge drop in your HbA1c -- really well done.
Wonderful sunny day today and temperatures going up into the higher teens. Have a wonderful day, everyone.
