What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

8.0 - Yeah, well. I could do with a string of 6s, as this 8<>7<>8<>7 morning flip-flop has gotten to be tedious. But hey, no double figures, so gotta be good.

6.1 this morning. The numbers surely cannot be because I am stressing about cooking the sweet for our lunch club on Thursday - can it? I'm standing in for the usual cook who had a heart attack recently- He's doing fine with the addition of a stent) I'm making sticky toffee pudding (sorry for mentioning carbs folks) I have never eaten or made sticky toffee pudding before (too sweet) so I'm a bit nervous in case something goes wrong, but it was my suggestion, so I guess it's my fault if my nerves are causing higher levels. Never tested lower than 5.7 yesterday which was not appreciated. It will be interesting to see if bloods revert to more usual levels after Thursday. Have a great day folks.

I think it probably is... stress is the biggest culprit when it comes to examining my trends - I can literally place the timeline coinciding with various meeting during the course of the day. The more painful a particular customer is, the higher my numbers tend to be,

Morning all. Bedtime 12.1. I couldn't believe my eyes then thought back to pensioners lunch and realised why. This morning (late) 9.7. So today, NO carbs at all. (Says she hopefully with fingers crossed).
@RosemaryJackson have you thought about taking something along you can eat? So you still get the company and social aspect. I'm thinking cheese instead of a too tempting dessert perhaps?

Guys, I lurk here most days but don't post my fbg as it does vary and seems to have a will of its own
I'm happy if its in the green on my libre ie 4-8, which most of yours seem to be.
Are you sure you're not stressing each other out and it's all a bit disheartening especially to newbies? I just want you all to be happier
Most of you are doing fine, imho

I think the reason most of us post is to keep ourselves on track.
We often emphasise, particularly to new members that this is not meant to be competitive. We all have our own tolerance levels.
I post here to remind myself to stay in control of what I eat, exercise, etc. Lately, my fasting levels have been somewhat erratic. As long as they are under 7 I am ok, but I have been seeing more 7s, 8s and even a 9 recently. That is reflected in the highest HbA1c Inhave seen for years. So getting the fadting level back down to a more acceptable level is important to me.
Today was 7.6. Not a number I like, but it is at least reducing.

I can't say for others but I can say how I felt when I was new to this forum .... this is perhaps the only thread I post regularly ti... I like to see the regulars posting here and some new ones coming and some others taking a break... I was thrilled to see some even remembered when I came back after a good 6 months... the bond is better in sharing here you see... we all know these numbers impact our psyche but to be able to share especially on bad days and get reminded of something obvious or to admit I have been naughty the night before and hence the uplift in number are things where I find this thread and members therein so supportive... nobody I have met here ever judges me for my choices and they would be spoilt for choice should they decide to look ...

All in all I think this thread and posts from regulars here is something that gets me back to the forum on a daily basis...

Good morning
Libre 5.3
Contour 5.3
Gym this morning before work
I post every day to keep myself on track, My b/s is hard to control, none of the usual type 2 things affect it, nobody knows what does, I eat low carb but the only thing that really helps is exercise
Its not about being competitive, just doing the best we can, diabetes of any kind is a sneaky little so & so

I can't thank you enough for that, for what I feel, is an honest appraisal of just how this condition affects you and precisely what you need to do to keep within range.

Thank you.
