What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

6.1 this morning, Dexcom.
a little snow overnight, about 2 cm. Made everything look very pretty again. Shovelled the deck, patio, and walking trail behind our house and I got very warm! It’s since risen to plus 3 degrees.
think I’ll go to Costco this afternoon. Need some more meat but only if it’s a good price. I’m finding Costco is not always the best….but I do love seeing what’s new.
stitches were a tad sore last night but fine…so happy to have the bumps removed!

Libre 4.7
Contour 4.9 (after walking downstairs & putting kettle on)
Doctors after gym yesterday, still got a chest infection, on 4th cours of antibiotics & 3rd inhaler, blood test after gym tomorrow & awaiting ct scan (refused steroids obvs)
Hugs to all in need & enjoy your day everyone

First meter reading was 5.0 this morning, however that seemed a bit suspicious so measured again. This time FBG was 6.3 much more realistic considering the last few days. There was probably not enough blood on the first test so 6.3 it is - and that's fine considering the "busy legs" disturbed night I have had. Happy day everyone. :)

5.7 at 7:40. I’m surprised at that as I went a bit overboard on the sweet stuff yesterday have had lunch with the outlaws.

I'm so addicted to sugar I’ve decided to go carnivore until the end of February and then may continue after that. I’m not giving up my morning coffee though. I follow Kelly Hogan on YouTube and she’s been carnivore for 14 years and still has coffee! So today is clear all the kitchen cupboards of the dry goods that aren’t appropriate; sweetener, almond flour, flaxseed etc

Have a wonderful Wednesday everyone x

What does a carnivore have with their coffee, then? A slice of ham or a nibble of biltong doesn't really seem quite the same as an almond flour biscuit.

Whatever works for you @MissMuffett. Your Stop eating before 19.00 challenge has gone down a treat with some of us.

I'd be inclined to hang on to the almond flour for now. It's not as though you can eat it on impulse straight from the bag. It has to be made into something first. It's a useful commodity and will keep well after the end of this month, if stored in an airtight container.

I know how you feel. I adore coffee and enjoy its preparation and accompanying aroma almost as much as the drink itself. When our machine was on the blink recently, I made my coffee in a cafetière. It does the job, but it's not quite the same. Thankfully, our machine is now up and running once again.

Currently, I've no evidence that coffee, however it's brewed, affects my post breakfast BG levels, Cappuccinos are a different matter, but that's not the coffee per se. You can pour an awful lot of lactose (milk sugar) into a cappuccino, an espresso with double cream being a safer option.

Morning All …

FBG Fingerprick 7.9 Libre 8.7 ugh not good but actually maybe worked out in the end after following story…

Speaking of coffee … just managed to drop my freshly brewed mug right on top of my poor robot vac after giving myself my morning bolus. Huge mess cleaned up later - one very clean robo vac drying outside that I hope still works and now i’m hypo due to not eating and probably vigorious cleaning. Oh well now the place smells like coffee!

Day 3 of temperature experiment.
Libre 6.7
GlucoNavii 4.3
CodeFree 6.8

After 3 days of the GN showing readings in the 4tress, rather than the stickies or hive, I am going to switch kits and bring the CodeFree in out of the cold instead tonight.

I’m carnivore now. It does keep me from spiking but my normal blood glucose sits at 6 and a bit higher….yup,I’m frustrated. It’s pretty easy though and grocery shopping is a breeze. Good luck!
