What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Typical comments such as "a little bit of rice won't do you any harm" or " nobody died from a slice of toast or a cake" and "just have the one more pint or another glass of Baileys" have crept into my daily life both at home and work.
I suspect most of us have been on the receiving end @ChrisT2. Once diagnosed in 2003, a close relative (no longer with us) was forever plying me with cakes and jam tarts. What prompts this behaviour I wonder? I can't relate to it myself. If we knew a family member was trying to give up certain foods for health reasons, it's the very last thing we'd do. It's tantamount to buying a woolly jumper for somebody who's allergic to wool!

Real rice is a carbohydrate with almost no nutritional value, but some low carbers miss it. Cauliflower rice satisfies that longing. It's also a great way to increase the vegetable content and nutritional value of a meal, and that benefits the whole family, whether diabetic or not.

You don't need me to tell you how harmful one more pint or another glass of Baileys is likely to be. Unfortunately alcohol weakens our resolve. Best stick to spirits and steer well clear of sugar laden mixers.

A reasonable 6.2 for me this morning. Hopefully over the bad day off but already work plans for Xmas parties and section drinks well underway. Can you believe someone even bought in a ton of mince pies and although I never succumbed but was salivating like Pavlov's dogs. Managed to politely avoid the " just one pie won't do you any harm" comments as I slurped my revolting cup of green tea and tried to laugh things off. I always looked forward to Xmas but this diet has dampened the excitement a little bit, shame my BS doesn't believe in Father Christmas.:confused:

Morning All still in Rehab and today 7.3. Trying to juggle different conditions which means reducing fats so its not as straight forward as usual. But need to conquer. Christmas is tricky @ChrisT2 but for one day choose one treat and look forward to it. For me its a crispy and fluffy roastie and a small chunk of parsnip. Don’t miss the choccies but we are all different.

Blimey there are so many delicious things which have almost no carbs and I used to feel guilty about eating.

Meat and cream to name just two

It does take a while to adapt and does take a bit of planning but taste wise it can be great Honestly

Libre 5.4
Early to work again, going on the peloton bike after
I always find if I have a little treat it never tastes as good as I remember so I don’t often bother (ready salted Pringles aside)
Take care everyone
I am the opposite they always taste soooo good its really hard to stop at one

7.2 mmol when I woke up.

I noticed my glucose kicked up on Dexcom G6 at 1:30am from 6.3 mmol to 11.2 mmol at 2am while I was asleep - 3:05am back to 6.4 mmol.

- did this coincide with a dream ?
