What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

7.0….slowly but surely. Have most blood results back, A1C is not here yet. Cholesterol high, as usual. GFR is an amazing 84! I was borderline for years. All liver markers are great. My TSH is high but likely due to me forgetting my meds…bad me.
a foggy day here after a gorgeous sunny day yesterday. Hovering at zero

A1C results in….not as high as I expected at 47.5 (6.5%). Considering my illnesses and travel I’m suitably impressed. 6.5 is as high as it’s ever been….and I e had that reading just twice in two years…well now three times.

I’ve given up being good or not. - just focussed on living the best life I can and recording the numbers as I go through it.

In short I’m doing my very best and happy to learn

Morning all. 8.0 this morning after a sleepless night. Still awake at 5.30 and had to get up at 7 to wash my hair and shower before my hairdresser comes. I had restless legs all that time but maybe I could call it my exercise for today lol ????
I wanted to give you a hug for the restless legs as its no fun at all, but I love your take on things. Keep well.

6.3, yippee, finally back to normal. Before dinner last night I checked my blood…4.4, I checked again because I’m never 4.4….and it was 4.9. Wow. Before bed 5.9, another great number.
trying to decide if I should wear a monitor for the upcoming trip to Egypt and Morocco. I don’t like to be labelled a picky eater and wearing a Cgm seems to take the pressure off.
light snow this morning but it will melt soon.

I like to wear one whenever away. So many hidden carbs so if I see an unexpected rise I can at least compensate at the next meal.

8,6, another long night, and a small wound got infected, so that might be a reason for a ridiculous number. Was a girl scout though, so I'm always prepared, with just the right salves in my fridge should something start looking angry. Seems much better now, than it did last night. Yay. Now if my BG's come down as well, that'd be good.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Morning All 8.2 which can only be down to a a very realistic nightmare, the price for sleeping through the night. Ups and downs. Take care everyone, stay well, stay safe. @JoKalsbeek I’m another who keeps natural salves esp lavender in the fridge, magic on oven burns. Hope the infection improves.

I tend to ditch the CGM when I am away either on hols or with work as I know I will have little control over meals I eat. I simply try to finger test morning, noon and night if I can.
The great benefit of the CGM for me is identifying the foods that send my figures into outer earth orbit as I am still at the lower end of the carby learning curve and I can monitor BG levels quite closely when I have total control. Unfortunately when I am away I lose that level of control especially with work as I can no longer control the meal content or timings so losing that ability to compensate. I know sometimes my BG will be off the scale without the CGM telling me but when back home wearing the CGM is a real game changer despite the cost and these days I wouldn't be without it.

BTW 6.5 this morning, have a great weekend and try to stay in control .
