6,7, and I'm beginning to wonder what the point of fasting tests is: I will never have a night of uninterrupted sleep (wake 2-6 times, if not more, and usually sleep 5 hours or decidedly less), and the nightmares have been with me since 1991. I don't think consistently non-diabetic numbers in the morning, are possible for someone like me. In the past 4 weeks, I think I had nice numbers exactly once.

Still... At least it's coming off my liver, that's something. But sheesh.

I go through everything more or less the same. Obviously not happily, but have no choice. We all know that all diabetic are different. I am hooked up on testing and record keeping. I have been testing for the last fifteen years. Testing keeps me on track. Good luck and keep up the good work.

[QUOTE="JoKalsbeek,

I think I may be in a similar boat

Typically I eat around 10 grams of carbs per day which consists of a couple of eggs for breakfast , piece of fish for lunch and steak for supper, with cheese for pudding

I’ve tried cutting out breakfast ( time restricting ) and it makes little difference . Nor does the occasional 24 hour fast . - my bmi is around 19.

Here in the uk, or maybe it’s just my local surgery, it’s a challenge to get blood tests done other than the ones offered at the yearly review. Mainly of course thus doesn’t matter but 6 or so years ago I asked to have a c-peptide done and my GP refused as my hba1c was according to him, ok ( 47) - I had to drive 2 hours and pay £300 to find out my numbers were low but still within normal range

I’m considering having the test done again to see if there’s a change. -

My gripe is that the system here just does not encourage self empowerment.

Ok. Rant over …
