What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

An unfathomable 7.7 this morning, had only 28g carbs yesterday at lunchtime and nothing since other than black coffee. Walked a good 7 miles in the afternoon and would have expected a much lower result. Funny really because I couldn't quite understand the unexpected lower readings and now find I can't explain the higher ones either especially with efforts to be "good" with both diet and exercise. :banghead:

great job :) before you know it you'll be posting new lowest readings. have you noticed any patterns evolving yet with regards to what your eating and general activeness for the day might be worth noting down and try a repeat for something that appeared to of worked for you best wishes
Thanks! So far food, whether overall meal size or carb content, appears to have no effect whatsoever. So frustrating as diet is the one thing I can really control. Activity makes it easier to get a blood drop out but doesn't change the numbers.

Basically overnight fasting gives me BG of 9 - 11, food with gliclazide gives me a reading between 5.5 - 7.5 2 hours later, and I haven't eaten enough unmedicated meals to establish a pattern yet.

9.3 today btw

Morning All so 8.3 today 7.8 yesterday. My A1c is in and is 42 which upsets me, 39 last year, 36 several years prior. I think a factor is my frequent upset tummies due to malabsorption of fats which translates to eating toast on those events. I am medicated for malabsorption and have an incomplete pancreas but like a lot of conditions they worsen as you age. Plan to go back on 6 monthly checks and look to eating smaller meals.
Good luck everybody nobody said it was easy.
