What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Hi Freema just tested BG again 2 hours after brunch and BG 5.6
Pre brunch should have read tested are 10.30 not 11.30 has previously posted.
We are a strange lot us diabetics! At least I'm maintaining BG range. Kathleen
 
18/8 - Afternoon.

My morning reading was 8.4

(Been to see Practise Nurse this morning and diagnosed with Infected Sinusitis and now on Antibiotics for the next 7 days).

That's an interesting bit of info. I don't have a lot of fats in my diet, 1. because I don't eat meat and 2. cos I had my gall bladder removed 2010 and advised low fat diet and 3. I have an hiatus hernia on stomach valve, and get a lot of reflux, aggravated by fats
I'm testing BG about 4 times daily, both before and after meals.
My diabetes nurse advised to join a diabetes forum, she said I would get a lot of valuable advice. I'm so glad I joined this group

Hi Liam Maureen5752 has been asking about you well the fact that she hasn't seen you on here for some time I sent her a message about our meet up last week and assured her you are usually on here on games,I said she should get in touch with you so look out for message from her. K

Why did my BG rise when I'd neither eaten or drank anything, anyone got an answer for me K

Hi @Granny_grump,

Your rise might also have been due to the physical exertion of cleaning the bins.

I have noticed that when I do physically demanding work in the kitchen or if I work out on the cross-trainer, my blood sugars will go up (about 1 to 1.5 mmol).
