Hi new to the forum. Recently decided to be more pro active with my type 2 diabetes have lost 2 stone and eating healthy. This morning my reading was 3.3 is this a bit low?
Welcome to the forum @afcwben. 3.3 is a bit low. Type 2s should aim for fasting blood glucose (fbg) readings of between 4-7.
But meters aren't 100% accurate, and as long as you are feeling ok it's good.

going bad for me 6.2 mmol at 11:00

I know it is still in acceptable area but I used to be in the fives most of the time...and I wan´t to get back in that area at least 6 of the weeks days...
maybe it is my regained kg´s maybe it is too many carbs ... it isn´t doing too litlle fitness for sure... thought I would be lower doing very much endurance training and now also adding much more resistance training on arms, back, behind and stomack.. my legs are strong as "iron";):singing: for a woman at least...

have a wonderful summers day all of you in this forum.:). thank god this forum excists... so we at least can support each others and tell the real thruths of how to regain body and blood glucose control..

Hi new to the forum have been diagnosed with Type

2 for some time, recently been on a bit of a health kick lost 2 stone and sarted taking blod readings more seriously. This morning it was 3.3 this seems low

you are doing fine I think , if you only do diet controlled treatment for type 2 diabetes and don´t take drugs , then it is not dangerous to be low in that area.. but yes it is really low for a type 2 diabetic, you could then celebrate with eating a peice of bread for breakfast ...or some other carbs you might long for...

if you an the other hand are on blood glucose affecting drugs, then you might take care not to be that low in future .. this could mean that your are even lower in the night , and then it can be both dangerous but also just result in not feeling refreshed from sleep at all..

When you drink your body treats alcohol as more toxic than sugar , so it deals with that in preference to manufacturing glucose, hence many of us have lower blood sugar levels after drinking. A " few" vodka's on ice " usually" does sound like a fair it of alcohol- so please be careful that in getting " good " blood sugars - you are not giving yourself alcoholic fatty liver disease instead of the non alcoholic fatty liver disease - both are equally bad for you.

My own fasting number 4.0 today - funnily enough the result of three single malts !

haha yes single malt is GOD-sent ..:hungry:

just red yesterday that people drinking 3 glasses of rosé-wine in a week have less risk of becomming diabetic.... well thought it might be because of the alcohols blood glucose lowering affect if only a drink now and then over the week... maybe even the best to drink it in evening... so morning dump will be less markedly .

I have certainly found that the odd glass of wine or whisky reliably lowers my blood glucose including the morning after I read that research too - which seemed to suggest that while drinking red wine reduces the risk, spirits increases it - at last for women - ho hum ....

Hello!

There is a fair bit of "off topic" discussion happening on this thread.

I'm not knocking the commiseration/encouragement/or "high fives" on member's fasting numbers.

However, some of the postings clearly warrant a thread or PM topic of thier own.

Please stay on the topic of this thread.
I thank you!

5.8 again :) :p Terrible numbers in the night due to another chess tournament, until about 12:30 (then I was back home again so I quickly dropped to normal levels). Extra high due to stress - one of the other players called me a cheater and shouted at me :(
