What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Hi, @PenfoldAPD !
This seems to be happening to quite a few of us this year - perhaps it's something to do with this year's vaccine. I'm usually in the low to mid-5s, but my FBS has increased to 6.1 today after my flu jab yesterday.
I asked about the pneumonia vaccine, having had pneumonia last year and being in no rush to repeat the experience, but my GP told me I had to wait until I was 65 before I qualified... :grumpy:
Sorry honey, probably been asked before, but doesn't the fact that you had pneumonia mean you could be more vulnerable and therefore should be on an at risk register? Not that I want you to be at risk..:arghh:

Good morning all

Now off to my first morning walk of the new month. Feeling very proud of managing a walk every single day during September walking a combined distance of 173 km (about 103 miles)! Best part is I loved every single step.

Have a great Sunday and best wishes for a good month this October.

Just returned from my walk, my fastest time for 5km by a large margin, at 47 min the first time I manage the distance under 50 minutes. Within that I managed a 8,52 min one kilometer split, the first time I manage to go under 9 minutes.

This follows on from yesterday's session that at 12 km and 1 hour 20 minutes was my longest ever.

I seem to be on a natural high at the moment, since my tests on Friday showed that I do not have something seriously wrong with me. It is only now that the weight has been lifted that I realize how much those tests and the fear of what they might reveal were playing on my mind.

Please forgive and indulge me in this post. Despite first appearances its purpose is not to brag or show off. Rather it is to share with you my relief and elation.

It's hard to explain but my walks have taken a new meaning for me, they are at the same time a celebration and an act of defiance. No diabetes and no Helicobacterium Pylori can take credit for them. Every step is my own and I take pleasure in that because it was not easy, it took effort and discipline to stick with my exercise regime. Not something I have been particularly good at in the past. So please excuse me the self indulgent nature of this post.

Almost forgot today's walk resulted in morning levels going from 4,7 fasting to to 3,8 mmol before breakfast.

Bonu ghjornu à voi tutti questa mattata di vaghjime, u mo diavule di diabetic di u pastore d'ange. The name of this mornings game has been................wait for it...............wait for it...............diabetic whackamole. I took the mallet out of its holster and the little critters kept on popping out of the holes to be gently belted on the head with all the energy that I could muster in my heavily hungover state after last night's silliness in Liverpool. My whackamole score was 3.9 and rather spookily top that was my waking blood sugar. It is racing hard and she who must be asleep is snoring. Yes folks my doggie snores worse than I do. I think I'm am gonna sneak off back to bed and walk her later. I can chance this cos there ain't no work today wahahahahahahahaheeeeeeeeyyyyyyyyy. Enjoy your Sunday as the only people who should be working today are vicars and milkmen :)

I managed another 2 hours sleep this morning :p hope your head feels better if you got that extra nap in before w.a.l.k.i.e.s.:cat: (Bet your doggie can spell too!!:p) my dogs knew B.A.T.H.T.I.M.E. and would run at the sound of the 1st letter! Cos it was not the W. word!! :D:cat: funny how they would jump into every stream/pond/puddle/sea, but hate a B.A.T.H.!!;):D:hilarious:
Remember now, plenty of that other W. word (WATER!) and take it easy on anything stronger than tea/coffee!! :nurse::cat:
