What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Sorry to disappoint, but I had a sheltered upbringing. Is there book wif pictures that I couldn't learn from ? Now I must bring you two task you must lower your expectations when it comes or goes too me.
Alf, I never lower my expectations of my students. I still remember the name and image of the 1 girl from 1982 who failed GCE History when I told everyone she could have entered a different course and passed.

Hello mates,
At a couple of the other forums I've frequented there was a thread like this one where we all sorta checked in each day, with our first cup of coffee or tea, and reported our fasting or waking blood glucose level and some short comment about whether we're ok with it or if not - why not?...

It worked well as a sort of 'first thread to check' each morning and post to.

I'll start.

This morning was a 5.6mmol for me. That's about normal for me

What about you?

This is all new to me and took my first readings yesterday and I ended the day at 8.6 and was 8.4 first thing this morning. Is that bad?
Taking readings and asking questions based on that data is always good. You will know from more readings just how good, bad or average those are. Keep posting and asking questions and you will be much more informed and able to judge. Take care!

This may sound a bit pretentious but I said earlier Grandson and oldest Son for lunch today so really good - arrival of 2 granddaughters in summer so need to ensure he knows he will still eventually be clan chief. I just realised that he will be the 4th generation male to sleep in this house and 5th generation to grow food on the land. Very proud of that!
Not nobility or anything just very rooted in the terroir and I feel it is important for him to know that.

Edit: Granddad has used all the tools on the kirby and industrial quantities of apple sauce are ready. If the rain holds off Easter egg hunt may be on outside not inside. I really don't understand people who spoil grandchildren!:angelic: (Would playing hail to the chief be going too far?)

Well, to get back on topic; mine was 10.0 and has been showing a marked rise since I stopped medication in January. It used to run around the 6.0 level but last few readings have been - 10.0, 8.7, 8.7, 8.2, 10.9, 9.1.
I've an HbA1c test later this month, but am not looking forward to the results as I'm fairly certain my GP will suggest going back to some form of medication.

What do you think about re adding meds ? Theoretically I think I’d be ok with it but that’s in theory. In actuality I don’t know

Welcome to the forum @Maximusrant. Your readings are a bit high, you should aim for readings between 4-7 if you are Type 2.
Many of us have found that adopting a low Carbohydrate high Fat (LCHF) approach to eating has lowered our readings.
