What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

A day of DESMOND is over. Wasn't all bad and the people there were all lovely (inc presenters).
The diet part was predictably frustrating and should be renamed the "Butter Is Bad" course.
My favourite presenter quote of the day was
"But if we took the potato off that plate then that's your only source of carbohydrate gone. And what have we learned about carbohydrate - you need it for energy don't you, so where would you get your energy from...you might find yourself getting hungry and tired"
I wanted to scream out "HOW ABOUT WE GET OUR ENERGY FROM ALL OF THE OTHER FOOD ON THE PLATE? HOW ABOUT THE EXCESS GLUCOSE IN OUR DIABETIC BLOOD? HOW ABOUT OUR FAT RESERVES, MAYBE THEY COULD GET US THROUGH THE AFTERNOON? HOW ABOUT NOT PILING IN MORE CARBS WHICH PUSH OUR BGL UP AND MAKE US, ERRR, TIRED, AND ALSO PUSH OUR INSULIN UP AND MAKE US, ERR, HUNGRY?"
I didn't though. I didn't think it was going to help anyone. I decided to grin and bear it.

At the end I put my trainers on and went for a run - I did 10k in 54mins...not bad energy levels on 10g of carbs for the day.

This is making me laugh rhubarb...the potato diet...that must be where I'm going wrong...I don't eat potatoes:):)

5.9 today. Yay.
Another quote from DESMOND yesterday:
“We are not going to say that you shouldn’t drink Lucozade, but it is something you need to be very careful with.”
What... it's reading like a Monty Python Sketch...it would be funny if it weren't so damaging... rather than 'careful' .could they have said 'avoid'...or would that have been too controversial...honestly I am so enjoying these anecdotes.... absolute pearls of wisdom rhubarb... I hope there's more to come:)

Morning expected temperatures here today in the low 30's...another sweltering night...as expected the temperature goes up as does my BG...woke to a 6.3 today despite having dinner early and a max of 30 gs of carbs yesterday...I'll just have to be patient.

Good morning All. 6.1 for me at 08.15 which is a big improvement on the last two days. Had one snack at lunchtime and a big prawn coctail supper so should be even better. I have inflammation in one knee and taking ibuprofen the last few days so maybe thats the culprit. Need to drive to Kent tomo early so better improve.
Have a good day everyone, dont get too hot!
