Very late posting with all the excitement of my princess turning 6 today. Awoke to a 4.7 on the meter

Now she is six! She's as clever as clever!

Happy birthday to the little one! I do hope that she has a great day!

And @PenguinMum I really do hope things work out there, it must be such a difficult time so all of my prayers go out to you.

Thanks @Caesji it really is a worry. In some strange way it would almost be better if they found something not right that caused it otherwise we will be forever living on a knife edge.

My pals on this thread have kept me going today. I especially enjoyed @trick60 hot crust bun story, really made me smile. If it has to be done then it has to be done. We are mot slaves to anything all the time! Also @jjraak radio was funny as always and uplifting. I am deviating from the thread title, but thanks ALL.

Oh, Robin Goodfellow, I just dropped my glasses! :(

But oh, how sharper than a serpent's tooth had they broken (or broke, since this is Elizabethan English 101).

And so -- heigh-ho -- I need not go through brush, through brier, over park, over pale because without my glasses I could see neither the sidewalk nor the gate. But here I go gathering -- not nuts in May but milk in March and cat food and maybe a chicken.

And maybe some nuts after all -- peanuts -- for the squirrels in the garden.

Seems a particular type is out there offering hot cross buns to the vulnerable among us..(but who hasn't been there :sorry: )
possibly in return for 'sexual favours' .

It's not Christmas yet mate.

I also lost another 2 lbs (.9 kg) this week,

total weight loss so far : 94.59 lbs (42.9 kg - 6 stone 10.59)

Rainy here but we're getting at thaw (still lots of snow and ice to melt).. Today is the first day in some time, I didn't have to wear my warmest parka :)

Diax last April, given NHS classes 4 hours and lots of diet sheets with advice like "only a small jacket potato". I was just testing 2 hours after lunch once a week, getting typical 8.7 mmo/lt. Metformin SR 2 x 500 mg. Weight 100kg plus. Not feeling right.

I decided to research this a lot more. Just started using my metre to test FBG and BG after different food types and exercise,
more than once a day. Some big shocks last week!

Latest FBG today: 10.2, after 11.7 yesterday, previous day 13.0 mmo/lt. Going hard at LCHF.
Seems to be working? Morale improving. 2 kg lost since start of Lent.

Greetings to all. Your good interactions on these forums have shown me the way forward.

Sounds very similar to myself @True Blue

ate as proscribed...then after 6 weeks feeling emaciated & constantly hungry..to then be told i'd got worse..:***:

was the last straw, i then went hunting some one who could offer better advice and this lot here rode to my rescue.
and for me it was also the forum that helped me move forward successfully..

i too then started taking more note of my bloods and what foods did to me.
and yep, some real surprises after testing, especially when it seemed the foods were the supposed 'healthy ' types too.

and 3 months later i got down to 42 HBA1c from my original 57, and lost near on 4 stone.

so your doing great, and as you say it's all heading in the right direction..:D

Good luck on your journey.:)
