What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and.......who? what? Where and why?
The three states of matter of course! Living, dead and dieing.

This morning a worrying low 4.5 leap out of the meter out me, a little naughty because I will have to drive shortly.

Well folks I have no idea what your day will be like, but try to get the most out of it. Smile sweetly, break wind silently, tell racy jokes quietly and laugh loudly.
Today I have to be suited and booted, must remember to wear black socks, not my usual white ones.

4.9 this Monday morning. I have an appointment today with ‘the most amazing diabetic dietician’. I’ve had to wait 6 months (since diagnosis) got the appointment as she’s that in demand. Will be interesting to see what wonderful advice she is going to bestow upon me

....do let guys know...by todays numbers you are doing absolutely great anyhow ...

I’m a resplendent 4.7 this very morning. Yesterday I started with a sore throat and it usually signifies the start of a cold,.. I had Quincy a few years ago and I’ve never had a throat infection since ! But I do always kick off a cold with this sore throat. Up here in the people’s republic of Yorkshire we proclaim it’s going to be a mardy day.

Morning All. 5.6 today. Thanks ALL for recent messages.
Have as best a Monday as you can. Stay well, stay safe.
Had a busy few days and missed so much including the news about your son. So sorry to hear about his cardiac event. How is he? My son had one a few years ago. Miopericarditis. Very painful but fully recovered. Sending you big hugs at this worrying time.

Good morning folks. We had a visitor last night. My sister in law is a foster carer and we had her little charge over for the night to give her a bit of respite. What fun.
Anyhow, a 5.7 on the treadmill of bewilderment and fascination at 0800 this morning.
Decorators have arrived to paint the woodwork at the front of the house.
@karen8967 enjoy your last day at work and all the best with the new one.
Have a great day if you can and remember, the word “swims” is still “swims” even if its upside down.

5.3 for me, happy with that.

@karen8967 hope today goes ok, bound to be sad but I’m glad you have a new job to go to - is it the hospital one you mentioned a couple of weeks ago?

@PenguinMum I’ll be thinking of you all again today, it will have certainly been a memorable birthday for for poor son. Hope the cardiologists can get to the root of the problem.
@jjraak that sounds like the perfect sort of day yesterday, relaxing with the people you love most. I find the same issue as you if I have a late night snack. I have to go to bed a bit hungry if I’ve any hope of a fbg in the 5s

Hello all,

Was really windy yesterday, all the trains had been cancelled and my husband was stuck at Cologne central station. In the end, they ended up paying for a cab to get him home.

@karen8967 -- Hope your new job will be even better -- still must be a weird feeling after 20 years on the same job.

Blood sugars were 5.0 this morning.

Have a great start into the week, everyone.

@OrsonKartt the ‘best diabetic dietician’ genuinely was that. She apologised for it taking 6 months for an appointment and has said the problem with that is that she has nothing to tell me as my last Hba1c was so good. We spoke in depth about low carb - if I’d seen her straight after diagnosis she would have advised low carb. She discussed that some people find it hard to maintain long term and so to bare in mind that if I were to gain weight and go back to eating what I did before my numbers would most likely go back up. She spent the appointment just singing my praises and saying I was a success story - which feels a little fraudulent to be honest. Maybe if I can keep these levels for the next 10yrs I’ll accept that statement.
She did rather alarmingly say my doctor has written on my notes - diabetes cured!! She stressed this wasn’t the case, and that it would be diabetes in remission as is only down to this way of eating. I’m even dubious to class it as remission after only 1 blood test since diagnosis. My next one is due end of this month and then she said they’ll likely go to 18month bloods just to monitor. Concerned now as I get discount at my local gym as ticked the box as health condition where exercise helps - which is what my doctor told me to do in the beginning!! Now he’s written cured all over my notes if they check on me will I be in trouble?! Going to book an apppintment with my GP for after my next bloods to tell him he’s a fool and that I don’t want cured stated on my file!
