What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

FBG 5.8 this morning, so back in my comfortable zone. Based on previous observations, probably won’t last long but I’ll bask in the glow for today.

Gone for a celebratory swim and it’s my day off, so a shed load of home tasks to do.

Slowly creeping up again…6.4 this morning. I eat between zero and ten carbs a day….this is beyond frustrating.
back to the gym tomorrow, the diverticulitis hasn’t bothered me for five days now so it’s time. When I had my scan last week they did note a dilation of my pancreatic ducts, not surprising to me as I had a severe case of pancreatitis 16 years ago. waiting on an MRI (likely a very long wait…) and then I may finally have the proof that my diabetes is pancreogenic and not type 2. That would explain the limited food response.

Snap but just for the dp, rest of the time I am in the 5s
5.7 here. YAY! OK, two 50 minute sessions of Cardio Vascular workouts (not being virtuous here, it’s part of my Quad-Cardio bypass recuperation) PLUS my Plan A eating, pushed me South of the Border into 5-Land. Again, my Plan A and then a Longish walk with Mrs E to the COVID19 Booster Base Camp this morning and then I’ll see what’ll it will be like in the next 12 to 24 hours.

@DEBBIESCOTT - Excellent advice, esp with your workout activity. We all forget. Having to take all the meds I do, I get to take a glass of water with them. WC advice too, keep close to a
I drink water all day anyway, that was the advice given to fix everything from a1c to high chlosteral to damaged kidneys, I knew water was good for you, didn’t realise it fixed everything

Morning All 6.8 todau so just glad to be back in the 6s. Take care everyone.

Well…..
I did a fingerprick on the left pinkie, and it was 6.7 FBG. Thinks to self, ‘thats rather high for the dinner and activity levels yesterday, maybe my hands are a bit greasy’ (had been wiping down the table before breakfast) so washed hands and did a fingerprick on the right pinkie……5.7 FBG.

I know I’ve been here before and I should probably just accept the first one, but such a difference, at exactly the same time, just different hands?

I suppose we’d like to think the numbers are immutable but they’re not.

When this happens, more often than not, it's the first test which is unreliable for any number of reasons. You were right to retest.

Exactly 6 this morning. As I’m trialling Fiasp just deliberately elevated the number I wake up at with my Lantus dosing. This is taking so dialling in I seem to have had to modify I’m carb/ insulin ratio a little with Fiasp. Loving the fact of not having to pre- bolos though.
