What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Hi, I am going to start posting in here as I like the extra chat option.

5.3 on my second test (half an hour later) as the first was 4.3!!

Something weird keeps happening with my morning readings. I usually wake up, pee, wash hands and take my readings and up until now they have been in the 5s and 6s. But a few times in the last week, my readings have been in the 4s, but if I wait and retest, they are back in the 5s and 6s. It seems my dawn phenomenon is taking its time to get going all of a sudden. Is that normal, have I turned into a sloth?
Hooray for chat! When I was going round this fair ride 6 years ago I got invited to leave the very low chat reporting thread...can't think why...;). I like sloths, they seem to have a good idea at life.

Good morning
Libre 5.3
Mia for a few days, I’ve had my laser eye surgery & had husband in hospital, both on the mend, fortunately stress doesn’t affect my glucose levels
Happy Wednesday everyone

Seems like stress doesn’t affect my glucose levels eitherHappy Humpday everyone

Rest assured, a FBG in the 4s on waking first thing is perfect. Nothing much the matter with those readings and no need to invoke the dawn phenomenon to explain them.

6.4 this morning. I’ve been adding some extra carbs and not noticing much difference in numbers. Sadly I’m super addicted to the almond crackers so they must go…
saw doctor a few days ago and chatted about my diabetes. I’ve not changed my A1C much (after a full year) even when I was carnivore, zero carbs. Seems my damaged pancreas is just not happy and the beta cells don’t work. Low carb keeps me at an acceptable level but won’t lower things. She’s happy with where I’m at and there will be no meds until my A1C is around 8 (sorry, don’t have my conversion chart handy), then it would be something like jardiance (sp?). So i’ll plod along.
I did ask for another c peptide test since it’s been a year. She also added A1C….odd because I just had one two weeks ago…
MRI for pancreas coming up in a month. They saw something suspicious there when I had the diverticulitis weeks ago..it scares me. Doc thinks it’s likely just scar tissue. Hope so.
cold front here right now..winter is in the air! Minus 3 and windy. Brrrr

AIUI, an HbA1c result of around 8.0% equates to about 64 mmol/mol.
Jardiance is a proprietary name for empagliflozin, which belongs to a class of drugs called SGLT2s that reduce glucose reabsorption in the kidneys and increase urinary glucose excretion.

6.0 at 7:30am That’ll do! ;) Off for my MRI today, lying still for half an hour is very challenging:( :nailbiting:

Big hugs to you both @DEBBIESCOTT hope you‘re soon on the mend. Good luck @Ashybang keep us updated.
