Had a cough last Christmas after novovirus that didn’t get any better, then was told I had whooping cough which didn’t go away, eventually had a spirometry test & only have 40% lung function eventually I spoke to my mum, my dads family were told to move from Leicester to the coast or my dad wouldn’t live to be 20 (he was in & out of hospital with pleurisy & pneumonia) his dad dies at 40 don’t know what off but always coughing)
Started googling & spoke to my gp about a1at never came up as a possibility on his system, he wrote a blood test form out immediately & im piz now family members are getting tested & so far we’ve all got it, 8 month wait to see specialist in coventry
I’ve now got emphysema, only got a salbutamol inhaler as everything else raises blood sugars to mid 20’s
Not stopping me from working full time, going to the gym or peloton
