What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Some people will say test as soon as you get up others keep their testers by their bedside and check before they get up. Its pretty much up to you. I like to get up and wash my hands first - we are all different. :)
I get up 2-3 times at night to empty my bladder, take a sip of water (dry mouth) and usually go back to sleep. Finally when I get up in the morning, wash my hands and right away test my fbg. If I wait too long my bg will probably go up.

7.2 on finger prick as CGM now expired. I am on holiday abroad next week so not fitting a CGM until I get back as a result will be relying on intermittent finger stabbing and not so strict diet regime. Thankfully this will be after my diabetic MOT so will have almost a year to recover. :D Not quite the responsible attitude I know but have to let our hair down , while we still can.
enjoy your holiday :)

8.4 again. Still in pain from hand and finger very swollen and painful. Have a nice day all. Very overcast here.
hopefully swelling goes down soon for you and in turn wont be as painful. I'd guess you've tried cold compress?

been up for a few hours now libre seemed to think was 3.8 at 6:23 this morning and been low a fair bit according to it over the last couple of weeks, attached is todays graph alongside last 7 days time in range last couple of sensors seem to be a couple of mmol out vs fingerpricks so not worried :)

have appointment with DSN today wishing her luck in advance if its her duty to get bloods :O

mental note for self: remember to get clarity on sensor locations from her in particular asking where the most interstitial fluid is on the upperarms. also to point out bruising and a couple of lumpy bits with tummy bruising :/

6.3 at 7AM. Been fasting since 1700 last night as diabetic MoT at 1230 today. Finger pricks have been high all morning in the 9's even now at 1630. Cannot work out why fasting does not seem to lower my results as gone almost 24 hours without food yet recording very high readings. Not the first time I have noticed a rise when fasting yet it is supposed to be good for lowering BS. Unfortunately that is not my experience. Never mind back to normal eating tomorrow.

From memory I think its something to do with your body pushing out glucose from your stores of glucose to energise you through a fast. This is probably a good thing. Here is a link https://www.diabetes.co.uk/body/liver-and-blood-glucose-levels.html which explains it better than i can.

Being with my daughter I wanted to treat her and said we’d go to her favourite restaurant on me.

So for the first time in more than ten years I ate Chinese Of course I didn’t have rice , noodles or dumplings I chose beef cauliflower and some eggplant

My highest recorded glucose levels over the last ten years has been eight point two . I’d expected something similar but reached to ten

It took five hours till they dropped back to the sixes. This morning I’m measuring high fives low sixes

Chinese food definitely off my menu !

Amen

Thanks. I've tried cold and hot compresses and the hot one helps more
