What's your weight loss today/this week?

Well done Ladyhawk. Welcome aboard!

That's a great achievement so far.

It's the keeping it up that I find hard. I went from 15st to 13st 2lbs but since xmas I keep putting on 2lbs and then losing it again. At the moment I'm back at 13st 4lbs. Hope to get under 13st eventually.

Hi All.
Has anyone 'had' anything embarrassing happen to themselves as a result of weightloss ???
I have! Was stood at GP's reception desk waiting for the receptionist to deal with me [in a queue]
Wearing my tooo loose pants and YEP they just shot down to my ankles !!!
The patients sat waiting thankfully thought it was comical and saw the 'funny' side of it all.
The receptionist said it was time for some new pants for me!
Last weigh in I was 9st 10. Happy with it too!
Have focused and worked hard with my foodplans and routine as I am so weight gain phobic...
My DSN and consultant know this fact well with me, [its in all my notes!] been tiny all my life and was so scared of using insulin as it can fat store! [took them a while to coax me round to use insulin]
Anna.x :)

Thanks chocy! and keep at it ! I will fall i know but il get back up! I have done this before and lost loads of weight years ago but now i know this is for real and has to stay off! ....

anna omg bless! I havent had anything like that happen but im always having to pull my jeans up and my pants lol!! nearly had a miss happen loL!! x

I was really pleased and surprised that I lost 4 lbs this week. I thought it was an healthy week, including 42 his without sleep, then only dozing sat night too after too much whisky. I am pleasantly surprised but don't think the late night whisky diet is sustainable long term!

Hello ladyhawkdi, well done with your weight loss :)

Anna, you made me smile - there is a 'funny' side to diabetes after all.

And well done Gappy! You are really quite an inspiration with your weight loss.

My weight loss has stuck which is quite frustrating as I have 2 lbs to lose to bring me down to 9 stone and it's not shifting at the moment. Never mind, I'll get there in the end :)

cheers didie!.... god I wish I was 9 stone loL!! think i was that last when I was 9 years old! never been the norm so to speak! although ive been told alot I dont look my actual weight so guess im lucky that way , just wish the scales showed the way i look loL!! but oh well cant have it all! ... been docs today and came back with 3 more new meds! to add to my mass collection! but my blood pressure is still down since dieting! too early tho to come off any of them meds he says! x

Hi. I ended up ' stuck ' on a plataeu weight that just refused to budge at all, tried eating LESS too make it drop it didnt !!!!
Had to change my diet to restart my metabolism sort of kick start it up again - if you see what I mean ?
Then it droppped down lower, I was fed up , as if it isnt enough to stick with a diet and foodplan that had worked so well
previously to find it ground to a fulll stop ... :o
Had to rack my brains to try other things to make it all work again, I still wonder WHY it stopped dead and refused to lower
the lb's and ounces !!!
Anyone know WHY this happens ???
Anna.x :)

Not a good week....gained 1.5lbs....this is like history repeating itself but to be honest I was not extremely good this last weighing week with a meal out and a chinese takeaway... it is just annoying how quickly weight is put on... I will try harder this week to lose some weight...

Just stick with it claymic. It's in the past now. Think positively and keep going.

Anna, I wish I knew the answer as I have been stuck at 13st 2lb/4lb (alternating from week to week)
I had a blow out at the weekend and surprisingly lost 3lbs this week so maybe a kickstart is what's needed.

Well done Choc!

Anna, someone else said that I need to recharge my metabolism to get things moving again. If the blasted 2 lbs is not off when I weigh myself on Saturday, I'll have to do that.

I am new to this part of the forum. Hiya everyone.

I was diagnosed Friday night, type 2, and fear is a wonderful kick up the bum. Iv`e lost 4lbs this week :D 4 or 5 stones to go

Hi jeanne and welcome

I know what you mean about the fear. I lost the fear factor at xmas and haven't lost weight since. :(

Plateaus - bodies are very "conservative", hate change, and really dislike being asked to leave their comfort zone and lose a lot of weight. Sometimes they think there's a food shortage (in comparison to what they used to eat), and go into 'starvation mode' after a while, when they store every single spare calorie they can get hold of  .

So every now and again we have weight loss pause, which I'm afraid just has to be ridden out. I'm stuck at the moment on 17 stone, plus-or-minus 3lbs, which is why I haven't been on here very much recently. Usually this is when us serial dieters lose the will to live and go back to bad habits. Only this time we can't  .

Things should get better as the weather improves. Once it's warm and sunny we get out more, become a bit more active, and crave stodgy foods less - well, some of us! Giving the metabolism a shock often works - but only do it once

I'm obsessing about blood glucose readings now, not weight, which makes my plateau easier to bear. One other tip - are you measuring yourselves? Quite often we go on losing inches even without losing weight. Do the usual 3 measurements plus upper arm and upper thigh, once a week, and keep a record. Also try different clothes - who doesn't have something in the back of the wardrobe for when we're that bit thinner? I tried a nice bra which has always been too tight. Now it fastens right up to the last hooks-&-eyes!

Hang on in there - we can do it! Just make sure that those 'little treats' aren't happening too often, double-check your food intake - and don't stress - it puts the BG readings up!

Not a thing this week most pi**ed off about it. Stuck at 14st 10lbs for 10 days now. Something's gotta give soon....

Yep I can feel the day getting closer that the dreaded "E" word will have to make an appearence :(
