Why lo-carb has to be hi-fat

Bad day or what !!!!!!! dont know why but somewhere along the weekend i gained 1.5lb?????????? Didnt cheat , eating same as normal maybe a couple of glasses of water but not thirsty. Blood sugars normal highest was a 5.7. Oh well onwards and upwards

Dave P :(

For the first time since low carbing I stalled this week, so you're in good company. Feel a bit bloatier too, wouldn't be surprised if I gained this week. :(

Sue it may just be perception ..... or maybe just me but are you saying im a retentive ?????????

It wont budge guv

Well at long last the recent wieght gain is receding and about time.
I get the results of my recent HBA1c on friday afternoon so looking forward to that.

One thing i have noticed for about the past month is that my Waking BS have all been 4 - mid 5s. Early Jan was the last time i had a 7 and they used to crop up on an off. I am assuming the 3stone lost is having an effect on the IR.

Now wheres that gold top

Did you have a **** today? <G>

Trink am wise to that one always weigh after, which makes it all the more puzzling. but its shifting again the right way so probably fluid retention for some reason.

Back to square 1 today Hooray !!!! so might just make the target in time for Cyprus next Tuesday ................... Roll on

Patch thanks for the prod on the Fat / PROT ratio it worked and have posted on Success forum Got 3 weeks in Cyprus now to crisp slowly and tone the pecs. The baked beanz thing was a surprise but is true.

Thanks for the heads up on the fat/protein ratio. I've been conscious of it all week although not being exact, just been mindful of increasing my fat intake and easing up on the protein. After a stall last week, I've gone down 6lb today. not sure if its the increased fat, decrease in protein, or the exercise, I don't care it's working a treat so far! Woo hoo!

Doc its the strangest thing and to be honest a year ago i wouldnt have agreed but it does work, someone posted that the protien converts approx 58% to glucose. Well if you are into a plate buster steak and something to slide it down with it can make a difference. But it worked for me and yesterday my Surgery gave me the proof which is now on Success Stories.

Good luck

Great news, guys! I've still got a way to go - but I'm getting there. For me, exercise is the key. Eating the fat and exercising really works for me.

I'll tell you something else - when I am exercising, and I hit the wall, I find that I can usually power through the wall when I'm running on ketones. This would not happen (for me) if I was running on glucose!

Exercise+fat is the funniest thing. The more fat I eat, the less food I WANT to eat, and the more I exercise the more I WANT to exercise...

As a one time 20 stoner, this is baffling!!!

Patch ........... I dont know how to put this nicely :o

You defy logic

Do you also do things with bread and fishes

Amen
Dave P

Yes I do. I love fish sandwiches. But no bread. I use fish instead of bread.

3-pieces of fish, then...

Not a few people find this. I am mentally and physically much more even on ketones.

Here's some more interesting stuff

Not everyone has the same metabolism but there's a growing body of evidence pointing away from carbs as the primary energy source.

I'm currently digging through here

Trouble is you can spend so much time sat on your **** reading . . .
